Adam Sandler<\/a> is one of the greatest actors of all time.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Timothee Chalamet is a big fan of Adam Sandler<\/p>\n
The Wonka actor heaped praise on the 59-year-old star because of the diverse range of his performances and admitted he grew up hoping to emulate Adam’s turn in 2006 romantic dramady Punch Drunk Love.<\/p>\n
The two stars reviewed and discussed their movies at the Sandler x Chalamet event in the Fairfax High School gymnasium in Los Angeles over the weekend and after a clip from Punch Drunk Love aired, Timoth\u00e9e said: \u201cIt is one of the most important performances. It\u2019s impactful, deeply moving.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a young actor knowing you for your comedic work, seeing that thrown against the context of your other work, I\u2019m like, \u2018Wow, this is a f****** incredible actor. I hope I can give a performance like this.’\u201d<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old star thinks Adam should have received more awards recognition over the years.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI know it\u2019s not about awards, blah, blah, blah, but you should have a golden man in your hand, because, man, you\u2019re one of the best f****** actors of all time.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Happy Gilmore actor returned the praise.<\/p>\n
\nHe told Timoth\u00e9e \u201cWhat you continue to do for cinema and for all of us is beyond it all. I just cannot wait to see what you bring in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe pair have never appeared in a movie together but the Marty Supreme star was cut from Adam’s 2014 movie Men, Women + Children.<\/p>\n
\nAnd Adam recalled how director Jason Reitman was full of praise for the then-teenage actor.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI remember when Jason Reitman was talking about you being in it, he said to me, \u2018Oh, I got this kid playing the quarterback. He\u2019s coming. He\u2019s incredible.\u2019 He like, knew.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Dune star recalled: “\u201cI was at the [premiere] party at the Toronto Film Festival and I was sitting there and I was bummed, and you were leaving the party and you gave me a nice little shoulder pat; man, it meant a lot.”<\/p>\n
\nThe two stars also bonded over their shared love of basketball.<\/p>\n
\nTimothee said: \u201cThe times we\u2019ve played basketball, we haven\u2019t had great luck. We played these random kids and that was rough.”<\/p>\n
\nAdam added: “You\u2019re very good, awesome. I\u2019m fine. We played these two kids, just out of nowhere they just so happened to be so f****** good.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nAt the end of the night, the pair took on two fans in a quick game of basketball – but lost.<\/p>\n
