After watching a scene from Dune: Part Two<\/em><\/a>, Chalamet revealed he had only wrapped filming Part Three<\/em> of the series four days before. \u201cIt\u2019s moving for me that something as out there as Dune<\/em> has taken a personal resonance for me,\u201d said Chalamet. \u201cI\u2019m tearing up watching that scene. I\u2019ve grown up through those movies.\u201d The film, set to be released at the end of next year, marks the conclusion of the Denis Villeneuve<\/strong>-directed trilogy.<\/p>\n

After watching SNL<\/em>\u2019s \u201cThe Herlihy Boy House-Sitting Service\u201d sketch, Sandler spoke about his relationship with his late friend Chris Farley<\/a>. \u201cHe was by far the funniest dude on the planet,\u201d said Sandler. \u201cEvery comedian, it was unanimous that we all said he was the funniest. There was no competition.\u201d Before they taping an episode of SNL<\/em>, Sandler said that Farley would joke with him backstage that he was going to get him to break\u2014a big no-no for Lorne Michaels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Both actors spoke highly of working with Safdie. Josh and his brother Benny<\/strong> directed Sandler in Uncut Gems<\/em>, pushing the actor outside his comfort zone. \u201cI\u2019d be scared to do some shit and feel like I couldn\u2019t do it,\u201d said Sandler. \u201cOr I\u2019d feel foolish, or maybe I don\u2019t want to be seen like that. But I just dove in.\u201d Chalamet said he had a similar experience making Marty Supreme<\/em>. \u201cJosh gave me this opportunity where I feel empowered to be something I would almost be wary of being in this day and age, which is to be openly aspirational. I feel ike the goal of my life is to focus on this acting thing, the way Marty Mauser is locked in on ping pong.\u201d<\/p>\n

The night ended in a surprise two-on-two basketball game, with Sandler and Chalamet taking on two students from the crowd. The actors sparred, but ultimately lost 3-1 while the fans cheered them on. Kid Cudi<\/strong>, who appeared earlier this year in Sandler\u2019s Happy Gilmore 2<\/em>, and Josh Safdie both attended the conversation as well, with Chalamet giving Cudi a shout-out as one of his major inspirations. The two actors greeted fans after the basketball game as guests left the gymnasium to head back out into the rain.
