In February 13, Ricci announced her engagement to James Heerdegen, a dolly grip whom she met while filming Pan Am in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>In October of that year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2013\/10\/christina-ricci-and-james-heerdegen-married\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ricci and Heerdegen married<\/a>. The following August, they welcomed Ricci\u2019s first child, Freddie.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2020, Ricci filed to divorce Heerdegen, citing \u201csevere physical and psychological abuse\u201d from her husband, alleging that the abuse frequently took place in front of their son.<\/p>\n<p>LAPD records confirmed the police had responded to at least one call from their shared residence. Ricci also successfully obtained a protective order prior to filing for divorce.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, Ricci received a Domestic Abuse Restraining Order against Heerdegen. That October, they married.
