Asher Grodman<\/strong> knows Ghosts<\/em> fans want<\/a> to see Trevor and Getty back together \u2014 but is there a chance it could happen?<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a thing that we were interested in \u2014 Rebecca [Wisocky]<\/strong> and I \u2014 because they\u2019re great foils for each other,\u201d Grodman, 38, exclusively told Us Weekly. \u201cThere are things that they have in common and there are things that they do not have in common.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grodman said \u201cit was fun\u201d for him and Wisocky, 54, to bring the fictional couple to life.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticularly when it wasn\u2019t about the relationship \u2014 but it was about the things that are important to them,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt is about the hierarchy and who is topping who? I don\u2019t mean that in a sexual sense but of course that applies there too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ghosts<\/em>, which premiered in 2021, is based on the original British<\/a> series of the same name. After a married couple moves from the city to their recently-inherited Woodstone Manor, Sam (Rose McIver<\/strong>) suffers an accident that allows her to see the ghosts of people from different eras of American history who died on the property and are now bound to the area.<\/p>\n

Grodman plays Trevor, a womanizing stockbroker who partied too hard and died in the home. He later formed an unexpected connection with Hetty a.k.a the uptight lady of the manor (Wisocky) but they subsequently pulled<\/a> the plug on their casual relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess I\u2019m surprised that it took on the way that it did. I\u2019m not surprised that it was fun because it is just so fun to play,\u201d he shared with Us<\/em>. \u201cI think what is special about it is that it is when they are in that duking it out thing, it is a dynamic that is truly specific to them. Whereas with romantic relationships, they can all can fall in a similar vein.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grodman continued: \u201cThis one is truly paving its own path because it may end up being that there may be a romance at some point down the line. Especially on a show like ours, seeing a couple that is so deeply combustible is exciting. We love the fans and the response is such a blast.\u201d<\/p>\n

While reflecting on Trevor and Hetty\u2019s journey, Grodman recalled pitching to the writers that the show invest in their dynamic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe biggest request \u2014 or when we pitch things that we think are fun \u2014 one of the bigger ones was something Rebecca and I both pitched years ago. I can\u2019t remember if we did it together or separately,\u201d he noted. \u201cBut before Trevor and Hetty was a thing, [we pointed out that] that dynamic is begging for a combustible, sexual and hate-filled competitive dynamic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grodman also spoke to Us about what will continue to be explored in season 5.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tease that he\u2019s going to stir up some trouble, which is certainly a likely place for him to be,\u201d the actor joked. \u201cThat is Trevor\u2019s defining characteristic. We\u2019re going to see some patterns emerge for his behavior. I\u2019ll put it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since Ghosts<\/em> is in its fifth season \u2014 and already renewed for season 6<\/a> \u2014 Grodman praised the show for finding the balance between stability and keeping things new and fresh.<\/p>\n
