\u201cAnybody here worked from home during the pandemic?\u201d she asked. \u201cSome of you are some of you still working from home?\u201d<\/p>\n
Kelly cited the study, declaring that: \u201cA baby boom has happened because of working from home.\u201d<\/p>\n
The primary driving force for people choosing to have kids is economic stability and realizing that they could feasibly bond with and take care of children.<\/p>\n
However, Kelly humorously suggested that it simply meant that couples had more time to hook up, quipping: \u201cYou know what I\u2019m saying? Oh, you do know what I\u2019m saying? Good for you.\u201d <\/p>\n
\u2018Block out those seven minutes\u2019<\/h2>\n Following wife Kelly Ripa\u2019s angle, Mark Consuelos chimed in with: \u201cThat little lunch break.\u201d<\/p>\n
To be clear, Kelly did acknowledge that fully remote and hybrid work gives \u201cpeople more flexibility.\u201d<\/p>\n
She added that this highly preferable style of work has \u201cmade having a family a possible for couples.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mark then cracked a joke about \u201cpenciling in\u201d a \u201clittle afternoon meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n
He is referring, of course, to hooking up during free time at home. While most remote workers might simply get a head start on laundry or dishes in times when office workers might make small talk or fiddle with their phones, partners seeking to conceive might give it a go during the day.<\/p>\nFor many, \u2018Live With Kelly and Mark\u2019 is most enjoyable when hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Conseulos get personal. That may have already been a self-deprecating joke, as seven minutes is not a particularly long time for sex and could potentially leave a partner unsatisfied. <\/p>\n
Kelly, however, decided to knock him down a peg. Perhaps several pegs.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlease. You\u2019re being generous,\u201d she joked.<\/p>\n
Kelly and Mark quickly laughed together. \u201cUnited States had an additional 80,000 births between 2021 and 2025,\u201d Kelly read.<\/p>\n
This came after the COVID-19 pandemic had \u201cshut down offices and ushered in a new age of remote and hybrid work schedules.\u201d<\/p>\n
The study cited that \u201ccouples who work from home, even just one day a week, are more likely to conceive and more likely to plan to have children in the future than those who commute to the office five days a week.\u201d<\/p>\n
That is fantastic news. And a great counterpunch to the deeply weird people pushing for RTO in jobs where being in the office does not really contribute to anything except employee misery.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
