\t\t<\/p>\n The longest government shutdown in U.S. history has come to an end.<\/p>\n In the late hours of the night on Wednesday (November 11), President Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a> signed a funding bill that will reopen the government after a 43 day shutdown, the longest in the history of the U.S.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, eight Senators from the Democratic caucus<\/a> voted with the Republicans, breaking with the Democrats, to advance legislation to bring an end to the shutdown.<\/p>\n The vote went to the House on Wednesday night and the final vote was 222-209 in favor of funding the bill, with several Democrats voting for it. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Before signing the bill, Trump <\/strong>called for the end of the filibuster.<\/p>\n \u201cI also want to call for a termination to the filibuster so that this can never happen again.
