Golden Bachelor Mel Owens<\/strong><\/a> is providing some clarity \u2014 and closure \u2013 to runner-up Cindy Angelcyk Cullers<\/strong> after their shocking split.<\/p>\n

During the Wednesday, November 12, finale, Cindy, 60, left Mel, 66, during her Fantasy Suite date after realizing that Mel was unsure about getting married to either her or Peg Munson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t need to convince a man to love me,\u201d she told host Jesse Palmer <\/strong>during After the Final Rose<\/em>, noting that she was even willing to move from Texas to California to be with Mel.<\/p>\n

Moments later, Cindy came face to face with Mel.<\/p>\n

\u201cGoing back to the dock was interesting to watch. I had replayed in my mind a million time because I really thought it was you. I really thought it was you,\u201d she told Mel. \u201cI\u2019m just disappointed that you got that far without helping me understand that you weren\u2019t ready for a commitment. Not just me, but all those women that you brought along this journey when did you know that you weren\u2019t ready for something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mel, meanwhile, asserted that he was \u201cready\u201d to make a lasting commitment but simply needed more time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat you wanted was a proposal. But there\u2019s another person there. And you can\u2019t just leapfrog over that person,\u201d he said, referring to Peg. \u201cYou have to continue the journey like I told you before it\u2019s going to take time. You know the saying, first comes love, then comes marriage, then baby carriage. That won\u2019t happen but that\u2019s the saying. We talked about the leap of faith, I don\u2019t operate that way in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

He then told Jesse, \u201cMy feelings for [Cindy] were straightforward. I liked her or we wouldn\u2019t have been in Antigua together.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, Cindy said the pair just weren\u2019t \u201caligned\u201d in what they wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a very wise woman. [I knew I was] not getting married. There was no wedding at the end of this week,\u201d she continued. \u201cThere was a hope of commitment and to take this fairytale into a happily ever after. That\u2019s what I was hoping for. I even told you I would be willing to leave my life in Austin, move to near you, not with you but near you, to pursue a life with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Through it all, Cindy hopes that Mel finds The One.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cI want you to be happy, I pray for you every day. You\u2019re a great guy,\u201d she concluded, also revealing whether she is ready to find lasting love. \u201cMy heart is wide open. I learned so much about myself on this journey. I believe [my person] is out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The episode kicked off after a cliff-hanger<\/a> between Mel and Cindy, who wondered where their connection was going when he admitted he had hesitations about jumping into marriage again \u2014 and was undecided between the final two women.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love spending time with you. I love being with you. You\u2019re sharing, caring, smart, but it\u2019s a difficult situation. I am torn between you and Peg<\/a>,\u201d Mel told Cindy, who admitted that she \u201cwrestled with trying not to shut down\u201d in the environment. \u201cYou\u2019re a brave soul for sticking through it. It\u2019s hard to find a partner, but it could happen here, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

Ultimately, the pair didn\u2019t spend their fantasy suite night together on the heels of his overnight date with Peg, which \u201cexceeded\u201d his expectations. Peg, for her part, shared a similar sentiment.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJesse Palmer has his eye on one of Golden Bachelor Mel Owens\u2019 contestants to be the next leading lady of the franchise. \u201cI personally love Debbie [Siebers], and I think her incredible story resonates with many,\u201d Jesse, 47, told Entertainment Weekly on Wednesday, October 29. \u201cI absolutely believe she should be in the running to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI feel like we understand each other better now,\u201d she said in a confessional, after previously worrying whether Mel was \u201cemotionally available\u201d for a relationship. \u201cAll of my concerns definitely got answered last night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the season came to a close, Mel exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> that he made a pros and cons list as he attempted to narrow down the group of women and find The One.<\/p>\n

I can do it in my head, but when you write stuff down, it\u2019s meaningful,\u201d Mel said in his Us<\/em> cover story.<\/a> \u201cI wanted to write down my first impressions, the goods, the bads, the neutrals. The 66-year-old former NFL player (turned lawyer turned reality TV personality) handed out three roses on the Wednesday, October 15, episode of the ABC series, giving Peg, Debbie and Cindy coveted hometown dates. \u201cYour families, of course, are your biggest protectors and have [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt was tough,\u201d he continued, \u201cand I\u2019m just trying to figure out who is going to be the best fit for me, who I would enjoy. The hometowns are all great. But there\u2019s that magnetism that pulls you in that direction no matter what, and it\u2019s a little bit more toward one person than the other, so I went with my gut.\u201d<\/p>\n
