Time for a chill pill? Andy Cohen<\/strong><\/a> understands why fans are outraged about Tom Sandoval<\/strong><\/a> and Raquel Leviss\u2019<\/strong><\/a> cheating scandal \u2014 but thinks the backlash has gotten \u201cout of control.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTom Sandoval made a mistake that he\u2019ll probably regret for the rest of his life. He is still a person,\u201d Cohen, 54, said during the Tuesday, May 30, episode of the \u201cNot Skinny But Not Fat<\/a>\u201d podcast. \u201cIt\u2019s out of control. I hope it\u2019s kind of dying down for his sake. He\u2019s a real person.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Bravo exec added that while the\u00a0Vanderpump Rules<\/a><\/em> star, 40, did something \u201creally stupid and hurtful and asinine\u201d by cheating on Ariana Madix<\/strong><\/a> with Leviss, 28,\u00a0the level of vitriol he\u2019s received has been over the top. \u201cHe didn\u2019t kill anyone. He did not commit a crime,\u201d Cohen said, noting that the hatred likely stems from the Pump Rules<\/em> cast being \u201cso incestuous\u201d already \u2014 and that Sandoval\u2019s affair with the former beauty queen\u00a0is not his first on the show.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Us Weekly<\/em>\u00a0confirmed in March 2023 that Sandoval and Madix, 37, called it quits after nearly a decade of dating due to his infidelity with Leviss<\/a>. While season 10 of the reality series had finished filming by the time news broke, cameras picked back up to follow the aftermath \u2014 leading to an explosive and emotional finale and subsequent three-part reunion special hosted by Cohen, which kicked off on Wednesday, May 24.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Since news of their affair broke, Leviss and Sandoval \u2014 who have both issued apologies<\/a> to Madix via social media \u2014 have been under constant fire. The California native, for her part, checked into a mental health facility earlier this month.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A rep for the former pageant queen later confirmed to Us<\/em><\/span>\u00a0<\/em>that Leviss and her family have also \u201cbeen on the receiving end of violent and graphic death threats<\/a> both online and over the phone.\u201d Some of these threats were sent via social media, with one sender allegedly writing that they wanted to leave Leviss \u201cun-alive and dump the body.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The FBI, meanwhile, declined to confirm whether the model or her family had been in contact with the agency. \u201cFBI neither confirms nor denies investigations,\u201d a spokesperson for the organization told TMZ<\/a> at the time. \u201cObviously, we review all allegations reported to us and encourage anyone who believes their life is in imminent danger to call 911.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Sandoval, meanwhile, opened up about dealing with the public fallout<\/a> during an episode of the \u201cHowie Mandell Does Stuff\u201d podcast last month.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI have never felt the fight-or-flight [like I did] with this situation,\u201d Sandoval told host Mandel, 67, recalling the immediate time period after news of the affair was made public. \u201cI was literally on the run like I was wanted for a triple homicide. I didn\u2019t shower for days. I was in the same clothes for days. Didn\u2019t have my medication. \u2026 It did at times turn me into a total a\u2013hole.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The Schwartz & Sandy\u2019s co-owner also noted that his costars weighing in on the situation has only made things worse for him \u2014 and that he feels like they\u2019ve used his issues for personal gain.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere are really good friends of mine that have used this scenario \u2026 as content for their podcast. Fellow cast members,\u201d he explained. \u201cYou don\u2019t know want to know because you care about Ariana. You want to know so you have more content for your podcast. It\u2019s f\u2013king disgusting to me.
