After Tesla shareholders approved a new compensation package that could be worth $1 trillion<\/a>, CEO Elon Musk appears to be celebrating with a normal weekend on his social media platform X.<\/p>\n In an early Saturday morning post with the surely coincidental timestamp of 4:20am EST, Musk posted a video<\/a> generated by Grok Imagine, the new photo and video tool from his company xAI<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n As Musk described it, the video was generated by his prompt, \u201cShe smiles and says, \u2018I will always love you.\u2019\u201dAnd the video does, in fact, show an animated woman on a rainy street, saying those words in an obviously synthetic voice.<\/p>\n Twenty-four minutes later, Musk posted a Grok-generated video<\/a> of the actress Sydney Sweeney saying, in a distinctly un-Sydney-Sweeney-like voice, \u201cYou are so cringe.\u201d<\/p>\n While it\u2019s increasingly common to see people being weird<\/a> about AI-generated women and even forming romantic relationships with chatbots<\/a>, many X users pounced on the \u201calways love you\u201d video in particular, with one describing it<\/a> as \u201cthe most divorced post of all time\u201d and another calling it<\/a> \u201cthe saddest post in the history of this website.\u201d<\/p>\n Remarkably, neither of those was the most stinging critique of Musk posted to X this weekend. Instead, the prize goes to 87-year-old, award-winning author Joyce Carol Oates.<\/p>\n Responding to an impressively labyrinthine series of posts in which one user approvingly quoted Musk firing back at a Texas state senator who criticized his compensation package<\/a>, Oates wrote that it\u2019s \u201cso curious\u201d that Musk \u201cnever posts anything that indicates that he enjoys or is even aware of what virtually everyone appreciates,\u201d whether that\u2019s posting about friends, relatives, nature, pets, movies, music, or books.<\/p>\n Techcrunch event<\/p>\n \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSan Francisco<\/span> \u201cIn fact he seems totally uneducated, uncultured,\u201d she wrote<\/a>. \u201cThe poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the \u2018most wealthy person in the world.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n To which Musk simply responded<\/a>, \u201cOates is a liar and delights in being mean.
