Prince Edward<\/a>, Duke of Edinburgh, is a Royal Patron of the outdoor education charity.<\/p>\nAndrew was also previously a Royal Patron until 2019.<\/p>\n
While speaking to The Mirror at an event in London this week, where she was officially sworn into her new role, Beatrice – who was a trustee of the organisation for six years – said: “I feel incredibly inspired and grateful to have met so many young people like Sadie and Leo through the years that I’ve been a part of Outward Bound. They show us that anything is possible when you put your mind to it, and that what Outward Bound does, works.<\/p>\n
\n“Working with The Duke of Edinburgh, we aim to continue the 80+ years of evidence which shows that adventure can build resilience, confidence and kindness in young people.”<\/p>\n
\nMartin Davidson, Chief Executive of Outward Bound Trust, commented: “With The Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Beatrice working alongside us, we’re embarking on a new chapter.<\/p>\n
\n“One where every young person has the chance to test their limits, build confidence and discover that anything is possible. Their support reflects a shared belief that adventure changes lives.”<\/p>\n
\nBeatrice landing the new role comes as Andrew, formerly Duke of York, was urged by the UK government to travel to the United States to answer questions about his \u201clong-standing friendship\u201d with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n
\nCommunities secretary Steve Reed told LBC Radio on Friday (07.11.25) the former prince should assist a congressional inquiry examining Epstein\u2019s network after he was this week stripped of his royal titles by his brother, the king, over his links to the late paedophile financier.<\/p>\n
\nMr Reed said: \u201cAny individual who can help with an investigation of that gravity should go and help if they can. He\u2019s a private individual, it\u2019s up to him, but I think people should do what they can to try to help.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe remarks came after members of the US House Oversight Committee wrote to Andrew, 65, requesting a \u201ctranscribed interview\u201d as part of their investigation into Epstein\u2019s sex trafficking operations.<\/p>\n
\nThe committee said it had discovered \u201cfinancial records containing notations such as \u2018massage for Andrew\u2019 that raise serious questions\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nIn the letter, signed by 16 members of Congress and sent on Thursday (06.11.25), the committee said: \u201cWe write to seek your co-operation in the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform\u2019s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s sex trafficking operations.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThe committee is seeking to uncover the identities of Mr Epstein\u2019s co-conspirators and enablers and to understand the full extent of his criminal operations.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWell-documented allegations against you, along with your long-standing friendship with Mr Epstein, indicate that you may possess knowledge of his activities relevant to our investigation. In the interest of justice for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, we request that you co-operate with the committee\u2019s investigation by sitting for a transcribed interview with the Committee.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPrime Minister Keir Starmer echoed the view that Andrew should consider assisting the inquiry.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to broadcasters during the Cop30 summit in Brazil, he said: \u201cWell, in the end, it\u2019s a matter for him personally. My view, and this is not about the individual case, more broadly, is that anybody who has relevant information should always be willing to give it to whatever inquiries need that information.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut the individual decision is a matter for him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe congressional request followed King Charles\u2019 decision to strip his brother of his HRH style and prince title, effectively ending Andrew\u2019s public role.<\/p>\n
\nHe and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were also told to move out of their home, Royal Lodge, in Windsor.<\/p>\n
\nThe move came after the release of the memoir Nobody\u2019s Girl by Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide 41 years after she accused Andrew of having sex with her when she was 17 and being trafficked by Epstein and his madam and fixer Ghislaine Maxwell.<\/p>\n
\nAndrew has consistently denied all allegations made against him.<\/p>\n
