In a Vanity Fair interview<\/a>, Kim Kardashian \u2014 who has been studying to become a lawyer \u2014 discussed her \u201ctoxic\u201d friendship with ChatGPT, admitting that she has failed law exams after it told her false information.<\/p>\n \u201cI use [ChatGPT] for legal advice, so when I am needing to know the answer to a question, I will take a picture and snap it and put it in there,\u201d she said. \u201cThey\u2019re always wrong. It has made me fail tests\u2026 And then I\u2019ll get mad and I\u2019ll yell at it and be like, \u2018You made me fail!\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n ChatGPT is prone to hallucinations<\/a>, meaning that the LLM will create fake answers sometimes, rather than admit that it cannot confidently respond to a prompt. This technology isn\u2019t necessarily programmed to know what information is \u201ccorrect\u201d or not \u2014 rather, it is trained on an unfathomably massive heap of data and prompted to predict the most likely response to an input, which may not be factually accurate. Some lawyers have been sanctioned for using ChatGPT when writing legal briefs, which becomes obvious to those reviewing the briefs, since they cite cases that don\u2019t exist<\/a>.<\/p>\n Kardashian said she will try to appeal to ChatGPT\u2019s emotions after it lets her down \u2014 but this is a futile plan, since ChatGPT does not have feelings<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI will talk to it and say, \u2018Hey, you\u2019re going to make me fail, how does that make you feel that you need to really know these answers?\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cAnd then it\u2019ll say back to me, \u2018This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n But while ChatGPT may not have feelings, that doesn\u2019t mean that we \u2014 human beings \u2014 don\u2019t have feelings about<\/em> it. <\/p>\n \u201cI screenshot all the time and send it to my group chat, like, \u2018Can you believe this b\u2014- is talking to me like this?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
