Princess Eugenie<\/a>. Following King Charles\u2019 decision to strip the former prince him of his remaining royal titles and honours, a royal expert has said he may have to go through the humiliation of showing deference to his two girls.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Andrew Mountbatten Windsor will technically have to bow to his daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie<\/p>\n
Royal biographer Robert Hardman, author of Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, made the comment on the Daily Mail\u2019s Palace Confidential show, while saying the king\u2019s decision to revoke Andrew\u2019s titles amounted to \u201ceffectively categorising (Andrew) in the same way as war criminals and enemies of state.\u201d<\/p>\n
Asked whether Andrew will now have to bow to his daughters, Robert confirmed: \u201cYes, he probably will.\u201d <\/p>\n
He added Andrew is unlikely to bow \u201chappily\u201d\u00a0and is most likely dreading the moment that he will be publicly addressed as simply Andrew, without his Prince title.<\/p>\n
Since he is no longer a prince or duke, protocol dictates Andrew, as a private citizen, should bow to members of the royal family who retain their titles. <\/p>\n
\nRobert added about Charles\u2019 titles move: \u201cThe King has exercised his Royal Prerogative with parliamentary and government approval, he\u2019s talked to the Prime Minister about this.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nHe described Charles as \u201cthe fountain of justice,\u201d adding the monarch\u2019s action had been taken after consultation at the highest level.<\/p>\n
\nAccording to the Palace, Andrew has lost his HRH style, his dukedom, and his titles as Knight of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. <\/p>\n
\nHe has also been formally ordered to vacate Royal Lodge, following mounting public and political pressure over his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in 2019.<\/p>\n
\nDespite the severity of the move, Robert said the King\u2019s decision will not affect Beatrice and Eugenie, who retain their royal titles. <\/p>\n
\nHe added: \u201cThey are still Princesses and HRH because they are the children of the son of a reigning Monarch. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAll along, the King and other members of the family have been concerned that the sins of the family do not befall them. They are blameless, they have led a pretty upright life and are level-headed and very nice young women.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe added the sisters are unlikely to take on additional royal duties, instead remaining \u201cessentially private citizens who are related to the King and occasionally turn up at royal events\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nTheir titles, he said, are protected under King George V\u2019s 1917 Letters Patent.<\/p>\n
