Fox Sports is ready to make some game-day moves following Mark Sanchez<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

According to The Athletic<\/i><\/span><\/a>, retired NFL quarterback Drew Brees<\/span><\/a><\/strong> is set to return to the broadcast booth as a Fox NFL game analyst.<\/p>\n

The former New Orleans Saints player will begin his Fox career as early as Sunday, November 16, the outlet reported.<\/p>\n

His exact game assignment is not known just yet, but he is expected to work as an analyst the rest of the year and is signed up to call games through at least next season.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tA return to the broadcast booth is not imminent for Mark Sanchez in the aftermath of his shocking arrest. Fox Sports released their slate of announcers for Week 7 of the NFL schedule this week, with Sanchez\u2019s name noticeably absent.\u00a0 Sanchez, 38, was arrested on Saturday, October 4, in connection to a violent attack in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Brees, 46, is also expected to work alongside play-by-play announcer Adam Amin<\/strong>. (Amin\u2019s previous partner was Sanchez, 38.)<\/p>\n

The Athletic<\/i> reported both Fox and Brees have agreed to terms and a signed contract is expected soon.\u00a0 Us Weekly<\/i> has reached out to Fox Sports and Brees for comment.<\/p>\n

After retiring from the NFL in 2020, Brees found himself working for NBC Sports, where he called Notre Dame football games and was part of the Sunday Night Football<\/i> studio crew. The network and Brees ultimately parted ways after one season.<\/p>\n

If his deal with Fox is confirmed, Brees will join top analysts including Tom Brady<\/strong> and Greg Olsen<\/strong> as the NFL season heats up.<\/p>\n

Fox\u2019s new move comes as Sanchez has been off the air for a month after being arrested<\/a> for his role in a late-night fight in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

The Indianapolis Metro Police Department confirmed in a statement<\/span><\/a> that a \u201cphysical disturbance\u201d occurred on October 4 around 12:30 a.m. between Sanchez and another individual.<\/p>\n

\u201cFriday night in Indianapolis, one of our team members, Mark Sanchez, was involved in an incident that we are still trying to wrap our heads around,\u201d Fox NFL Kickoff <\/i>host Charissa Thompson<\/strong> said on the October 5 broadcast. \u201cAt this time, our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and all of those involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFOX Sports is facing some social media backlash after sending \u201cthoughts and prayers\u201d to broadcaster Mark Sanchez following his hospitalization and subsequent arrest. Sanchez, 38, was involved in a violent incident in Indianapolis on Saturday, October 4. The former NFL quarterback was stabbed, then later arrested by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police while recovering in the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Prior to kickoff, Chris Myers<\/strong> also commented on the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m Chris Myers, along with Brady Quinn<\/strong>, who is stepping in for Mark Sanchez,\u201d he said during the broadcast. \u201cAnd obviously we all want to send out our thoughts and prayers to Mark and those involved in Friday\u2019s incident, as we get ready for today\u2019s game.\u201d<\/p>\n

An affidavit for probable cause, later obtained by Us<\/i>, claimed that Sanchez allegedly approached a 69-year-old delivery driver at a loading dock.<\/p>\n

The man told detectives<\/span><\/a> that Sanchez appeared intoxicated. He used pepper spray to defend himself, but when Sanchez continued advancing, he pulled a knife and stabbed the athlete several times in self-defense.<\/p>\n
