Jake Haro<\/strong> has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to the murder of his 7-month-old son, Emmanuel Haro.<\/p>\n In addition to the sentencing for the murder, Jake, 32, was also sentenced to over six years in prison for other offenses, according to ABC News<\/a><\/em>. During the sentencing hearing on Monday, November 3, the judge said Jake is not eligible for probation because he was already on probation for severely abusing another child.<\/p>\n Not only was Jake sentenced to prison time, but he was also ordered to pay $20,000 in fines and court fees.<\/p>\n Before Jake was sentenced, the defense argued he should not have to pay any court fees or fines because their client was indigent and was represented by a public defender. Inside the Walkout Over Miss Mexico\u2019s Confrontation<\/a><\/p>\n Jake pleaded guilty to all charges in October, including \u201csecond-degree murder, assault causing bodily harm to a child resulting in the death of said child and filing a false police report,\u201d per ABC News.<\/p>\n The guilty plea came one month after he previously pleaded not guilty alongside his wife, Rebecca Haro<\/strong>, to the crimes in September.<\/p>\n Rebecca, 41, pleaded not guilty to an amended complaint in October, and a preliminary hearing in her trial was held on November 3. It is not currently clear what is in the complaint, per KABC<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Emmanuel was reported missing on the evening of August 14 after Rebecca \u201creported being attacked outside a retail store on Yucaipa Boulevard,\u201d the San Bernardino County Sheriff\u2019s Office previously said in a statement on August 15.<\/p>\n After Emmanuel was reported missing, his mother told authorities that \u201cwhile she stood outside her vehicle, changing the child\u2019s diaper, she was physically assaulted by an unknown male and rendered unconscious.\u201d<\/p>\n Authorities later said she was \u201cconfronted with inconsistencies in her initial statement,\u201d which led officials to be \u201cunable to rule out foul play in the disappearance of Emmanuel.\u201d<\/p>\n Emmanuel\u2019s parents were arrested and charged for the child\u2019s murder on August 22, per ABC News<\/em>.<\/p>\n It has not yet been announced if officials have been able to locate Emmanuel\u2019s remains.<\/p>\n
