Two weeks later, the MPA sent Meta a cease-and-desist letter, asserting that Meta\u2019s claim that content on teen Instagram accounts would follow PG-13 guidelines is \u201cliterally false and highly misleading.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company states that its movie-rating system can\u2019t be compared to Meta\u2019s content restrictions, which it says \u201cappear to rely heavily on artificial intelligence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe MPA has worked for decades to earn the public\u2019s trust in its rating system,\u201d said the letter. \u201cAny dissatisfaction with Meta\u2019s automated classification will inevitably cause the public to question the integrity of the MPA\u2019s rating system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In response to the letter, Meta stated that it hasn\u2019t claimed its teen accounts were certified by the MPA or officially PG-13 rated. Additionally, the company says its content restrictions are \u201cguided\u201d by PG-13, rather than directly linked to the MPA.
