Rachel Zegler opens up on Dame Helen Mirren friendship<\/p>\n
The 24-year-old star was overjoyed to have the iconic actress write her new interview for Glamour magazine, and she is delighted their bond has endured years after they worked together for the first time in 2023’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods.<\/p>\n
She told Extra: “She is an icon. She\u2019s a legend and she is the moment\u2026<\/p>\n
“She and I worked together so many years ago and the fact that she still brings my name up in rooms where I\u2019m not in, to speak very highly of me means a lot and it\u2019s the quintessential girls\u2019 girl move.\u201d<\/p>\n
This week, the Snow White star was honoured at the 2025 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, and she told the outlet how much it meant to be around a “sisterhood” at the event.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “I did an interview for Glamour where I talked about how sisterhood is kind of encapsulated by the drunk girl in the bathroom trope of like you look beautiful, your makeup is hot, break up with your boyfriend and that is sisterhood\u2026<\/p>\n
\n“So I\u2019m just really glad to be in a room with a lot of like-minded women.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nElsewhere in the interview for Glamour, Rachel told a reporter about the invaluable advice she has received from Dame Helen.<\/p>\n
\nShe recalled: “It\u2019s a needed perspective when you find success at a young age to know that it could be very, very different.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cShe was like, \u2018When I was 20, I would have killed to just be doing what you\u2019re doing. I was surviving meal to meal doing theatre at that time.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n“I don\u2019t often feel the need for a wake-up call, but a reminder is really, really important.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLast week on Instagram, the Evita actress shared photos from her cover shoot, and hailed Dame Helen as a “guiding light”.<\/p>\n
\nShe wrote: “Extremely honored to be one of your women of the year, @glamourmag + @glamouruk \u2014 what a year it\u2019s been!<\/p>\n
\n“Thank you @helenmirren for being my guiding light and loving me through it all. This interview was just so special.”<\/p>\n
