The Beatles was founded in 1960 by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Both before and after the group\u2019s disbandment eight years later, the musicians each became fathers. \u201cI\u2019ve always just tried [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cThat is a nice thing, a consoling factor for me, because I do feel it was sad that we never actually sat down and straightened our differences out,\u201d McCartney explained in the book. \u201cBut fortunately for me, the last phone conversation I ever had with him was really great, and we didn\u2019t have any kind of blowup.\u201d<\/p>\n
McCartney went on to note that he and Lennon had a \u201cvery happy conversation\u201d about their families. \u201cEnjoying his life very much; [Lennon\u2019s son] Sean was a very big part of it,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd thinking about getting on with his career.\u201d<\/p>\n
Paul\u2019s daughter Stella McCartney<\/strong>, meanwhile, recalled seeing her dad take the call where he learned about Lennon\u2019s death. (Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run<\/em> is an oral history that includes interviews from the McCartney family as well as numerous Wings and Beatles collaborators.)<\/p>\n\u201cI remember the biggest reaction I\u2019d ever seen from a phone call, and him leaving the kitchen and going outside,\u201d the fashion designer, 54, said. \u201cI admit it breaks my heart to this day. That was truly heartbreaking to see. I\u2019ve got that footage in my head for my life. I\u2019ve captured in my head the moment Paul McCartney found out that John Lennon had been murdered.\u201d<\/p>\n
