Danielle Fishel<\/strong><\/a> opened up about why she\u2019s struggling with her Dancing With the Stars<\/em> <\/a>performance for the upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are doing \u2018Dream On\u2019 by Aerosmith,\u201d Fishel, 44, said during the Monday, November 3, episode of her \u201cDanielle With the Stars<\/a>\u201d podcast. \u201cWe are telling the story about how difficult it can be to be a woman in society where we are somehow always too much and also never enough. No matter what choice you make, whether you work inside the home or outside the home. If you choose to work outside then you\u2019re selfish and your children need you and where is their mother, and if you work inside the home, then you are boring and don\u2019t have interests.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cAnd if you get botox and fillers then you\u2019re not aging gracefully, and if you age gracefully, then you look old and ugly. And if you are too thin, you\u2019re told to eat a burger and if you gain weight you\u2019re told to get off the couch. There\u2019s no winning, and having been in the public eye and on TV since I was 10 years old, I have been under a microscope, and my choices have been scrutinized. I\u2019ve made terrible mistakes. \u2026\u00a0 And I\u2019m resistant to it because it\u2019s triggering so many things in me.\u201d<\/p>\n

While speaking to her guest, former DWTS p<\/em>ro Louis van Amstel<\/strong>, Fishel explained that preparation for the performance<\/a> has sparked \u201ca lot of negative self-talk,\u201d \u201cdisordered eating\u201d and \u201call these things that are so personal.\u201d She added that instead of \u201cleaning into\u201d the dance \u2014 which will be a contemporary routine with partner Pasha Pashkov<\/strong> \u2014 she\u2019s found the unexpected reactions are \u201cmaking me not want to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDanielle Fishel learned the show must go on while battling an injury on Dancing With the Stars season 34. The Boy Meets World alum, 44, revealed in rehearsal footage shown during the Tuesday, September 23, episode that she suffered a \u201chamstring tear\u201d earlier in the competition. She later went for a deep tissue massage, which [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSo it\u2019s been a rough week,\u201d she continued. \u201cBut I think the fact that I realized it, made me wake up and think, one, so happy to be talking to you and for you to give me the advice you gave me because it really lands and resonates, but also, it\u2019s very clear that this is striking an emotional cord for me and there\u2019s ar eason for that and this dance actually means something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Van Amstel, who was a pro on and off for 11 seasons of the ABC series, thanked Fishel for being so candid, calling it a \u201cbeautiful, heartfelt moment\u201d for her. \u201cJust having this conversation, this is why I love or loved doing Dancing With the Stars,<\/em>\u201d he said, telling her she has \u201cnothing to lose\u201d going into week 8.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ve made it so far,\u201d van Amstel explained. \u201cYou can take the nerves and give up, or you take the nerves and switch on, use the adrenaline and say, \u2018People at home, watch this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Pashkov, meanwhile, showed support for his partner on the \u201cPod Meets World\u201d Instagram clip<\/a> of the episode, first leaving a handful of clapping emojis before writing, \u201cThis is why this show is so transformative. Not easy, but when we get over the hump it is life changing!\u201d<\/p>\n

Fishel\u2019s husband, Jenson Karp,<\/strong> also sent his praise. \u201cLove you and am just absolutely blown away by your courage,\u201d he wrote. \u201cLeave it all on that floor.\u201d<\/p>\n

During the podcast, van Amstel explained to Fishel that she\u2019s already \u201cmade it so far,\u201d so she can either take her \u201cnerves and give up, or you take the nerves and switch on, use the adrenaline and say, \u2018People at home, watch this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Fishel showed her appreciation for van Amstel\u2019s words, noting that while she has been \u201cstruggling\u201d this week, there have also been highlights. She is one of two captains for season 34\u2019s first team dance competition, an experience she said has been \u201camazing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I do say so myself, I picked an all-star team and it didn\u2019t come randomly. I had a full strategy going into it, and my strategy paid off,\u201d Fishel said of her group, which is named \u201cTeam Chicago\u201d and includes Whitney Leavitt<\/strong>, Jordan Chiles<\/strong>, Dylan Efron<\/strong>, their pro partners and cohost Alfonso Ribeiro<\/strong>. (\u201cTeam Chicago\u201d will dance to Chicago\u2019s \u201c25 or 6 to 4,\u201d while the opposing \u201cTeam Kool,\u201d led by Andy Richter,<\/strong> will perform to \u201cCelebration\u201d by Kool & the Gang.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI was thrilled with my choices, but my choices were such as I am by far, the weakest, at least female, link on the team, which is never fun,\u201d Fishel confessed. \u201cTo feel like, \u2018OK, everybody is picking this up really fast and I really need this to slow down.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Van Amstel told the Boy Meets World<\/em> <\/a>alum to \u201clet it go,\u201d saying she is not the \u201cweakest link\u201d but the person who \u201ccame in with the least experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pressure is on them, not you,\u201d he continued. \u201cEveryone knows you have grown from week 1 to now, leaps and bounds, and you have the likability factor<\/a>. And you have no problem with the character of the dance. Regardless of who is in your team \u2026 the only thing you can control is your movements, the involvement in the movements, listening to the music and do your part.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also advised Fishel to stay off social media, saying that putting too much emphasis on what people think will make anyone \u201cgo psycho.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Fishel asked him to give her \u201cone\u201d piece of advice after watching her dance, van Amstel suggested she \u201crip off all the layers that are left\u201d of herself and show the \u201cemotional self\u201d that he feels has been held back throughout the season.<\/p>\n
