Pete Davidson is having his tattoos removed<\/p>\n
The former Saturday Night Live star is in the midst of a lengthy process of getting rid of over 200 individual inkings from all over his body but he plans to keep designs inspired by The Sopranos, as well as two poignant designs he had for his mom, Amy Waters Davidson, and late father Scott Davidson, a firefighter who died during the 9\/11 terrorist attacks in New York.<\/p>\n
He told Entertainment Tonight: \u201cI got all these tattoos, so my mom was like, \u2018How come you\u2019ve never gotten a \u201cMom\u201d tattoo?Now I have a tattoo that just says \u2018MOMTATTOO.\u2019 That one has to stay…<\/p>\n
\u201cI have my dad\u2019s ID [number], and that\u2019s pretty much it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pete – who is expecting his first child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt – began the 10-year removal process in 2020 and admitted he is hoping to serve as a warning to other people because the procedure isn’t very comfortable.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cIt\u2019s awful. I\u2019ve been filming it and showing all the younger people in my family to be like, \u2018If you don\u2019t like it, this is what you have to do.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut I\u2019m excited \u2018cause I\u2019m making changes. So I\u2019m excited, but it sucks.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe 31-year-old comic previously explained he views getting his tattoos removed as a fresh start after overcoming addition.<\/p>\n
\nHe told Variety: “I used to be a drug addict and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I\u2019m just removing them and starting fresh, because that\u2019s what I think works best for me and for my brain. When I look in the mirror, I don\u2019t want the reminder of \u2018Oh yeah, you were a f******drug addict. Like, that\u2019s why you have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back.”<\/p>\n
\nThe King of Staten Island star has spentmore than $200,000 having them removed.<\/p>\n
\nHe admitted: \u201cIt\u2019s a pretty uncomfortable amount of money to disclose, but I think one of the tabloids already leaked it. <\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019ve already spent like 200k and I\u2019m like 30 per cent done. So, like, it\u2019s gonna suck … My arms are pretty much gone, and my hands and neck are gone. But I still have to do my torso and back.”<\/p>\n
