Revealing the small but important steps she takes to stay grounded on tougher days, the singer and actress, 33, spoke to People at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit in Los Angeles, saying even on her low days, she finds comfort in allowing herself to feel her emotions. <\/p>\n
She said: \u201cSome days you just have to let yourself get it out, and then afterwards, a good laugh.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Only Murders in the Building star attended the event \u2013\u00a0held at NYA Studios West \u2013 alongside her husband, Benny Blanco, less than five weeks after the couple were married in Santa Barbara, California. <\/p>\n
The benefit supports her Rare Impact Fund, which was established through her cosmetics brand Rare Beauty to help raise $100 million for youth mental health services worldwide.<\/p>\n
\nSelena said she has no single formula for maintaining balance. <\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cI don\u2019t know the key. I just know what works for me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI like to maybe just see one friend\u2026 and talk to my therapist, and look for people that help in the situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nNow in its third year, the Rare Impact Fund Benefit was hosted by comedian and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, and featured performances by The Mar\u00edas and Laufey. <\/p>\n
\nSelena said she was proud of what her organisation had achieved so far, saying: \u201cI hope that we continue to raise for what we\u2019re doing all over the world.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cWe are reaching two million young people a day. It is something I couldn\u2019t be more enthused about because it\u2019s something that we\u2019re actively seeing on the ground that people are working on, so it\u2019s amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSelena \u2013 who began her career as a child actor on the Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place before becoming a global pop star \u2013 has spoken candidly in recent years about her struggles with anxiety, depression and lupus. <\/p>\n
\nHer 2022 Apple TV+ documentary My Mind and Me chronicled her mental health journey and her efforts to balance fame with personal wellbeing.<\/p>\n
\nIn addition to her acting and music career, Selena has built Rare Beauty into one of the most successful celebrity-founded cosmetics brands. <\/p>\n
\nThe company\u2019s mission places mental health advocacy at its core, with one percent of all sales directed to the Rare Impact Fund.<\/p>\n
