Demi Lovato<\/strong><\/a> has officially let Poot out of the basement for Halloween<\/a>.<\/p>\n The \u201cSkyscraper\u201d singer, 34, took to Instagram<\/a> to unveil her hilarious transformation into her viral alter ego, Poot, complete with eerie lighting, pale makeup, and the same infamous angle that started it all. \u201chappy halloween and happy one week of intd!!! been so locked in this era thought i\u2019d let pootvato out \ud83d\udd12\ud83e\udd0d,\u201d Demi captioned her post, referencing her new album It\u2019s Not That Deep.<\/em><\/p>\n For the uninitiated, Poot Lovato became an internet legend back in 2015 after a fan posted a washed-out photo of Demi on Tumblr, joking that it was her secret twin sister who\u2019d been \u201clocked in a basement her whole life.\u201d The image exploded online \u2014 and so did the meme.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen Poot went viral, that actually sucked because I thought that was a real picture of me,\u201d Demi told Harper\u2019s BAZAAR<\/em> at the time. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Oh, no. That\u2019s a really bad angle.\u2019 But Poot was photoshopped. Later, I felt better about it because I realized that wasn\u2019t my face.\u201d<\/p>\n She admitted that while it was strange seeing the meme take off, she\u2019s learned to laugh about it. \u201cIt was definitely weird when it went viral,\u201d Demi said, adding that \u201cit\u2019s really funny to look back on.\u201d<\/p>\n And this year, she\u2019s fully embracing the joke.
