The Life and Beth actress – who has six-year-old son Gene with husband Chris Fischer – recently underwent spinal surgery following a surfing accident and has also spoken openly about her struggled with endometriosis but she’s now feeling stronger and healthier than ever.<\/p>\n
After receiving a string of compliments about her recent weight loss, Amy admitted she is “enjoying” her appearance but the way she feels is more important.<\/p>\n
Sharing some photos of herself glammed up for an event, she wrote on Instagram: “@gitabass did my makeup and took these pictures which I love! @tousledbyjae did my hair on his birthday! The black and white dress is @maisonvalentino thanks Brenda! <\/p>\n
“I\u2019m feeling strong and like myself. I\u2019m enjoying how I look but man it is all about how you feel.<\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m so grateful to be pain free thanks to my trainer Mona at reload who has helped strengthen me since my back surgery and @seckinmd for lifting all the endometriosis\u2019 out of my body. @midihealth helping me navigate perimenopause and my psychologist. <\/p>\n
\n“I got all dressed up and ready to go to my friends 50th and then decided I wasn\u2019t feeling up to it and wanted to stay home with my little guy. Thanks for all the love. Sending it right back [heart eye emoji] (sic)”<\/p>\n
\nThe 44-year-old star revealed in August she had undergone spinal surgery and shared a photo of her using a walking frame to help her stand.<\/p>\n
\nShe wrote on Instagram: “Since my surfing injury back in the day my L5 has been killing me. Today I got a laminectomy! It\u2019s a short recovery and when I\u2019m feeling better I will buy a bra!”<\/p>\n
\nAmy has previously been candid about her health issues, and last year she revealed she had been diagnosed with Cushing syndrome, a hormone disorder caused by prolonged exposure to steroids.<\/p>\n
\nShe wrote in a News Not Noise newsletter: “While I was doing press on camera for my Hulu show, I was also in MRI machines four hours at a time, having my veins shut down from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I may not be around to see my son grow up.<\/p>\n
\n“So, finding out I have the kind of Cushing that will just work itself out and I’m healthy was the greatest news imaginable.”<\/p>\n
\nAmy was made aware of her condition after being criticised for her “puffier” face,a common side effect of Cushing syndrome.<\/p>\n
\nShe quipped: “But thank God for that. Because that’s how I realised something was wrong.”<\/p>\n
\nEarlier this year, the Trainwreck star revealed she had had a “really good experience” with Mounjaro after struggling with Wegovy, another weight-loss drug.<\/p>\n
\nShe said on Instagram: “Three years ago, I tried Wegovy. I was puking, I couldn\u2019t handle it. <\/p>\n
\n“I don\u2019t know if they\u2019ve changed the formula, whatever. But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself \u2018cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers.”<\/p>\n
\nAmy noted that the clinic “put [her] on oestrogen and progesterone”. <\/p>\n
\nShe continued: “I realised I was in perimenopause and my symptoms from being perimenopausal have disappeared.”<\/p>\n
\nThe actress has seen a marked change in her appearance since she adopted the new drug.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I\u2019m talking about sex. So that\u2019s been great and Mounjaro\u2019s been great.”<\/p>\n
