Model Winnie Harlow has been doing Whitney Houston inspired looks for Halloween this year, including from the “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)” Music Video.<\/p>\n
“The woman who made us all Wanna Dance with Somebody. The icon, the Voice. Whitney Houston,<\/i>” she wrote in an Instagram caption.<\/p>\n
However, her second Whitney costume has become somewhat controversial. In a video posted to her Instagram, Harlow impersonates Houston’s acceptance speech at the 2001 BET Awards, where she received the Lifetime Achievement Award.<\/p>\n
Despite captioning it “one of my favourite Whitney moments<\/i>“, people online have deemed the post ‘disrespectful’ and finding it to be mocking rather than a tribute. This being because Whitney was apparently struggling with an addiction at the time. <\/p>\n
