\t\t<\/p>\n Suzanne Rogers<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about her health.<\/p>\n In a new interview, the 82-year-old Emmy-winning actress, best known for playing Maggie Horton on Days of Our Lives<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, revealed that she has been diagnosed with stage 2 colorectal cancer.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>After feeling that something \u201cwasn\u2019t quite right\u201d with her body, Suzanne<\/strong> told TV Insider<\/a><\/em> on Thursday (October 30) that she underwent a series of tests and that\u2019s when her doctor discovered that she had cancer.<\/p>\n \u201c[My doctor] said, \u2018You have cancer and you have to start treatment.\u2019 It was all a shock,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI think I was in a shock for several days because I take pretty good care of myself. But he said, \u2018It\u2019s a good thing you caught it in time.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n After wrapping Days of Our Lives<\/em> for the summer, the soap legend began treatment three days later.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was radiation every day and chemo every day for six weeks and it was tough,\u201d Suzanne<\/strong> shared. \u201cIt was tough knowing you had to do it five days a week and then you had off Saturday and Sunday. I thoroughly enjoyed my weekends because I didn\u2019t have to go to and see a doctor. I was so tired of seeing doctors.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to reveal that she completed treatment on July 31 and is \u201cfeeling really good\u201d now.<\/p>\n \u201cI start back to work next week, so we\u2019ll see how that goes,\u201d Suzanne<\/strong> said. \u201cNow, I\u2019m feeling anxious like I do any time I get scripts because I want to do my very best and you don\u2019t want to hold up anybody. So that\u2019s the only anxiousness I feel. It\u2019s not because of my illness, let\u2019s put it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n Suzanne<\/strong> also noted that she didn\u2019t lose her signature red hair while going through treatment.<\/p>\n \u201cI guess because I was taking the chemo pills,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m sure there\u2019ll be people that are saying, \u2018Well, she didn\u2019t really have cancer,\u2019 but you know what? I really don\u2019t care what people say. I know what I\u2019ve gone through and I\u2019ve come out on the other side, so that\u2019s all I care about.\u201d<\/p>\n In her over five-decade run as Maggie, Suzanne<\/strong> is the longest-running actor in an American soap opera and plays the longest-running character role in American soap opera history.
