Duffer Brothers have offered some teasers for the new season of Stranger Things<\/p>\n
\nThe horror drama series has just released a full new trailer for the upcoming season five, depicting Hawkins under military quarantine, and Ross and Matt Duffer have teased that things are “in chaos” right from the first episode.<\/p>\n
\nRoss Duffer told Netflix’s Tudum:\u201cI think what’s unique about this season is that it starts a little bit in chaos because our heroes ultimately lost at the end of Season 4.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe usually set up their normal life and how they\u2019re going about school, and then we introduce the supernatural element. But in this case, this season is sprinting from the start.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHis twin brother added: “[The gang are] not experiencing normal life. Nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore.<\/p>\n
\n“Their movement is restricted, and there are Big Brother cameras everywhere. So not only are they active \u2014 their everyday, normal lives are anything but.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nExecutive producer Shawn Levy has promised fans are in for a visual spectacular with the new episodes, but insisted that hasn’t come at the cost of an “emotional” story.<\/p>\n
\nShawn, who directed two of the new episodes, said: “The action is next level, the visual effects are next level, but I’m also happy to say that the emotional center remains the same. \u201cAnd part of the magic of this show is that even as we evolve, even as the storytelling becomes more epic, it’s always anchored in these characters that we love.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe first installment of season five premieres on 26 November and is set in the autumn of 1987, with the central characters determined to find and kill Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).<\/p>\n
\nAn official synopsis teased: \u201cBut [Vecna] has vanished \u2014 his whereabouts and plans unknown.<\/p>\n
\n“Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will\u2019s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. <\/p>\n
\n“The final battle is looming \u2014 and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they\u2019ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they\u2019ll need everyone \u2014 the full party \u2014 standing together, one last time.\u201d<\/p>\n
