Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>\u2019 Jan Ravnik<\/strong><\/a> is clapping back at the scrutiny he\u2019s received in his first season as a pro dancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, look, everyone has [an] opinion. Everyone has a right to have [an] opinion. Haters [are] going to hate and whoever loves us, loves us,\u201d Ravnik, 30, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Tuesday, October 28, after he and celebrity partner Jen Affleck<\/strong><\/a> were eliminated during DWTS<\/em>\u2019 season 34 Halloween Night<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat am I going to do? You can\u2019t change their mind. Everyone can have [an] opinion \u2014 either I respect [it] or don\u2019t respect [it],\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Ravnik emphatically concluded, \u201cYeah, let them talk. If they want to stay relevant in that way, yeah, let them hate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Going into Tuesday\u2019s Halloween Night episode<\/a>, Ravnik \u2014 who performed with Taylor Swift<\/strong> on her Eras Tour<\/em> \u2014 faced criticism over his ballroom credentials, including from former DWTS<\/em> pro Maks Chmerkovskiy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cDancing With the Stars<\/em> is a worldwide phenomenon. \u2026 I\u2019m sorry, Jan has absolutely no business being a pro on Dancing With the Stars<\/em>,\u201d Chmerkovskiy said on the Friday, October 24, episode of his wife Peta Murgatroyd<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cThe Penthouse With Peta\u201d podcast. \u201cThere\u2019s zero foundation technique, quality, understanding of the partnership. Bro, I\u2019m getting emotional. It is absurd, and this is unreal how blind we have to be and God forbid say what\u2019s obviously there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chmerkovskiy, 45, took aim at Ravnik and Affleck\u2019s foxtrot during the October 21 Wicked Night episode<\/a>, claiming the professional dancer had \u201cno idea\u201d what the dance style entailed.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow are you going to expect him to teach it and deliver that message in a format that is completely different from even ballroom dancing? We had this criticism weeks ago, and I\u2019m like, \u2018Bro, is anybody going to explain it to him?\u2019\u201d Chmerkovskiy said.<\/p>\n

Chmerkovskiy said Ravnik\u2019s casting was a \u201cmissed opportunity\u201d for Affleck, adding, \u201c[It\u2019s a] major disadvantage. [Jen] has no partner. \u2026 It\u2019s not his fault.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chmerkovskiy\u2019s wife, fellow DWTS<\/em> alum Murgatroyd, 39, said that \u201chiring a non-ballroom dancer to teach ballroom dancing to a celebrity as a job\u201d was \u201coutrageous.\u201d However, she said Ravnik was a \u201clovely guy\u201d and \u201cgreat dancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ravnik and Affleck, 26, went home on Tuesday night after performing a contemporary dance to Swift\u2019s \u201cLook What You Made Me Do.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I think we were both shocked, but I think that\u2019s everyone when they go home,\u201d the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em><\/a> star exclusively told Us<\/em>. \u201cI think everyone expects to make it to the end and seven weeks is a long time, and I\u2019m grateful that I got to this point. I\u2019m grateful that we got to Halloween and we were able to end off on an amazing note.\u201d<\/p>\n

During Tuesday\u2019s broadcast, DWTS<\/em> judge Derek Hough<\/strong><\/a> appeared to allude to the criticism Ravnik has faced in his inaugural season.<\/p>\n
