Claire <\/strong>revealed that she first learned she was expecting in March after spending some time with her friends. <\/p>\n\u201cI can\u2019t really say I was shocked. I\u2019d had this overwhelming desire to procreate and really felt like a baby was coming for us,\u201d she reflected. \u201cI don\u2019t know if it was mother\u2019s intuition or wishful thinking, but I had a very strong gut feeling.\u201d <\/p>\n
Despite her feelings, she was still surprised to see the positive pregnancy test. <\/p>\n
\u201cEven though I knew it was a possibility, when those two pink lines showed up, I felt alllll the feelings,\u201d she recalled. <\/p>\n
Once she knew she was pregnant, her concerns shifted to thoughts of suffering another miscarriage. <\/p>\n
\u201cI took multiple tests each day to make sure the line was getting darker. My google searches switched to miscarriage statistics and signs of loss,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI often wonder what it must be like to go through a pregnancy without worrying that something will take your baby from you. Without waiting for bad news at every appointment. I thought that after two healthy pregnancies I might feel slightly more hopeful but alas, the feeling was the same. I never really let myself get too excited, as if it would somehow protect me from the pain if something weren\u2019t right. It\u2019s a sad way to experience something so beautiful, but I guess it\u2019s human nature to want to shield yourself from heartache.\u201d<\/p>\n
Claire<\/strong> recalled going in for an ultrasound and being concerned about the baby\u2019s heartbeat. <\/p>\n\u201cI tried to accept that things would happen just as they were meant to and none of it was in my control. I reminded myself that if I didn\u2019t lose that first baby, I wouldn\u2019t have my [children] James <\/strong>or Elle<\/strong>. It definitely helped me curb the constant whirlpool of negative thoughts in my head,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\nAfter feeling comfortable with the pregnancy, she shared the news with her other children: \u201cJames <\/strong>was beside himself with joy \u2013 it was definitely one of the best moments of my life. In usual Elle <\/strong>fashion, she was nonchalant. God I want to be like her.\u201d<\/p>\nHow is she feeling now?<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough I still have moments of nausea, it\u2019s completely manageable and my energy has returned to pre-pregnancy levels,\u201d Claire <\/strong>explained. \u201cI\u2019m still scared of course. I know that so many things can happen between now and 40 weeks. I won\u2019t let those fears rob me of my joy, though. I\u2019m so thankful for all the love and support I\u2019ve received and I can\u2019t wait to share this journey with you all.
