Peta Murgatroyd<\/strong><\/a> believes that Dancing with the Stars<\/strong><\/a><\/em> needs to make a change to its scoring system.<\/p>\n During the Friday (October 24) episode of her Penthouse with Peta<\/em> podcast<\/a>, the 39-year-old pro dancer, who has appeared on and off the ABC competition series since 2012, shared her frustrations with the scores that the judges give out.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cA nine for me is, like, you are close to perfection \u2014 and perfection for a celebrity,\u201d Peta<\/strong> said while discussing the current season 34.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s why I feel like the scoring system is so, so hard and so not correct,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n \u201cLike, we should start at twos and threes but a nine [means] you\u2019re nearly there perfect,\u201d Peta<\/strong> continued. \u201cThere\u2019s people who get nines that I don\u2019t think should get nines.\u201d<\/p>\n For the record, Master P<\/strong><\/a> did receive twos during his paso doble dance during season 2.<\/p>\n While she didn\u2019t name who was undeserving of their high scores, the judges gave out several 9s, and a few 10s<\/a>, during \u201cWicked Night\u201d on Tuesday, October 21.<\/p>\n The season started off with the judges being a lot harsher with their scores, giving out mostly sixes and sevens.<\/p>\n \u201cThe scoring tonight, just be mindful, it might be a little lower than you\u2019re expecting because there\u2019s a long way to go,\u201d judge Derek Hough<\/strong><\/a> explained during the season premiere. \u201cThis is a marathon. We want to give you guys room to grow.\u201d<\/p>\n While appearing on DWTS<\/em>\u2018 companion podcast<\/a>, co-host Julianne Hough<\/strong><\/a> appreciated those scores.<\/p>\n \u201cI think over the years, we\u2019ve done a lot of fusions of proper technical ballroom and Latin dances have fused into sort of these hybrid dances,\u201d Juliane<\/strong> said. \u201cI really appreciated Bruno [Tonoili] and Derek dropping the scores a little bit because you want to be able to see people improve, and you want to be able to give them the right critique so they can learn and grow.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cHe\u2019d really be talking about the fundamentals and I think there was a lot of hybrid dancing [on Tuesday], which by the way, I get because we\u2019re in this new generation of TikTok and playful fun and it\u2019s entertaining.
