\t\t<\/p>\n Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd<\/strong><\/a> is reflecting on how suffering a stroke three years ago has changed his outlook on life and acting.<\/p>\n The 74-year-old actor revealed in a new profile interview with Vulture<\/a><\/em> that he experienced a stroke shortly before filming began on Andor<\/em> season 2 and Dune: Part Two<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI feel a little more like I live under the sword now,\u201d he shared. \u201cBecause I\u2019ve lived a naughty life. And I\u2019m 74, which is already on overtime.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked how the stroke impacted him, Stellan<\/strong> admitted, \u201cI got really scared.\u201d<\/p>\n He went on to explain how the incident affected his memory and ability to perform, particularly while filming Dune: Part Two<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I found a way,\u201d he said. \u201cThey have earpieces where you have a prompter that says the line. It\u2019s not enough because I have my rhythm. They have to say their line on top of my line for me to be able to answer it. They have to say it very fast, very neutral. It takes a lot of training for that guy.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cYou might say, \u2018Oh, you\u2019re lucky. You don\u2019t have to learn your lines.\u2019 There\u2019s more work now than there was before. Suddenly, I can\u2019t come up with names. I can\u2019t follow a thought or make an argument that spans several sentences that gets to the point \u2014 that, then bang<\/em>! That is extremely frustrating. But on the other hand, I\u2019m alive. I can work.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked if the stroke made him consider any larger existential questions, the Mamma Mia!<\/em> star responded, \u201cWouldn\u2019t that be lovely? No, I\u2019m afraid I didn\u2019t because I knew I was going to die. It didn\u2019t come as news to me. But, of course, I considered, This might be the end<\/em>. I didn\u2019t know how bad the stroke would be or if there would be follow-up strokes.\u201d<\/p>\n Still, he admits the experience left him with a deeper awareness of his own limits.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not afraid of dying, but I am afraid of not being capable of living,\u201d he said. \u201cThat is a fear. And being boring.\u201d<\/p>\n
