Christine Taylor<\/a> since 2000, and in spite of their separation in 2017, Ben believes they’ve always bonded over a shared sense of humour.<\/p>\nThe Hollywood star – who reconciled with his wife amid the COVID lockdown – told The Wall Street Journal newspaper: “I was like, \u2018Oh, I\u2019m really happy being with this person and we have fun together.\u2019 It just felt like an instinctual sort of thing.”<\/p>\n
The loved-up duo met in 1999 and were married less than a year later.<\/p>\n
Ben explained: “Our shared sense of humour is the key to our off-screen relationship.<\/p>\n
\t\t\t <\/p>\n
\n“When you\u2019re with somebody for many years, and you go through the ups and downs of life, a sense of humour is just the most important thing, being able to laugh together and want to hang out together.”<\/p>\n
\nBen moved back into the family home in 2020 so he could spend time with his children amid the COIVD-19 lockdowns.<\/p>\n
\nAnd the comedy star previously admitted that the situation later “evolved” between him and Christine.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “Then, over the course of time, it evolved. We were separated and got back together and we’re happy about that.<\/p>\n
\n“It’s been really wonderful for all of us. Unexpected, and one of the things that came out of the pandemic.”<\/p>\n
\nBen and Christine now have a “respect” for their similarities and differences, and they’re more “accepting” of each other than ever before.<\/p>\n
\nThe movie star explained: “I think we have a respect for the ways that we’re similar and the ways we’re different.<\/p>\n
\n“And I think accepting that, you can really appreciate someone more because you’re not trying to get them to change for you.<\/p>\n
\n“Once you accept that, you save a lot of energy. \u2018This is something that works for me; this is something that doesn’t work for me.’<\/p>\n
\n“If you have that trust level with your partner, you know that me saying \u2018I don’t like doing that thing,’ is not me saying \u2018I don’t like you.'”<\/p>\n
