9-1-1<\/em> <\/a>and 9-1-1 Nashville<\/em> have officially had their first (unofficial) crossover.<\/p>\n

Warning: Spoilers below for 9-1-1 season 9, episode 3.\u00a0<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n

The Thursday, October 23, episode of 9-1-1 picks right up with Athena (Angela Bassett<\/strong><\/a>) and Hen (Aisha Hinds<\/strong>) panicking as their space shuttle threatens to go up in flames. Although Athena ultimately finds a way to save the group by opening the spacecraft\u2019s top hatch, they quickly realize that there is now only a certain amount of oxygen left for them before they run out.<\/p>\n

While Hen\u2019s wife Karen (Tracie Thoms<\/strong>) and 9-1-1 dispatcher Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt<\/strong><\/a>) were previously guiding them to safety from earth, the movement of the craft means Hen and Athena can no longer alert them to their emergency. The spacecraft also won\u2019t be back in range of Los Angeles airwaves until after their air runs out. When Karen and Maddie also take note of the situation from the ground, they come up with a plan to reach out to a familiar friend.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey won\u2019t be over L.A. for 72 minutes, but they\u2019re going to be over somewhere, right?\u201d Maddie explains to Karen. The duo then call up 9-1-1 Nashville\u2019s<\/em> dispatcher Cammie (Kimberly Williams-Paisley<\/strong>) to ask for her help.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me get this straight \u2014 you want me to send one of our people up to the roof with a satellite phone?\u201d Cammie asks, to which Maddie replies, \u201cYes and it would be great if you could do it in the next 12 minutes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re aware we\u2019re under an extreme weather watch over here,\u201d Cammie responds, referencing Nashville\u2019s season 1 ongoing opening emergency. \u201cIt\u2019s raining fire over here,\u201d Maddie retorts, ultimately getting Cammie to jump into action.<\/p>\n

The connection with Nashville to the spacecraft is successful. \u201cNashville?!\u201d Hen responds when Cammie reveals who she is. \u201cAm I speaking with the folks on the spaceship? Hold please, patching you through to Los Angeles,\u201d Cammie says before Hen and Karen are reconnected.<\/p>\n

Karen and Maddie then jump into action to save the group from space, deciding to send them to the International Space Station. While they manage to get there safely, they find an injured astronaut on board, seconds before the station is sent into flux from a debris field, leaving them back in harm\u2019s way.<\/p>\n

The four-part opening emergency began during 9-1-1\u2019s<\/em> season 9 premiere on October 9, when billionaire tech bro Tripp Houser (Mark Consuelos<\/strong>)<\/a> was saved by Hen after being swallowed by a whale. Hen was then offered a chance to go to space and bring someone along as a reward, but their celebration trip quickly took a turn for the worse.<\/p>\n
