Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> season 34 honored the world of Wicked<\/em> with some incredible performances \u2014 and a brand new sneak peek at what\u2019s to come in For Good<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the Tuesday, October 21, episode of the ABC dance competition series, director Jon M. Chu<\/strong> revealed a glimpse at the upcoming film, which featured The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum<\/strong>) explaining how he became popular in Oz. He, along with some help from Glinda (Ariana Grande<\/strong><\/a>), sang \u201cWonderful\u201d to Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo<\/strong><\/a>), promising they can make her \u201cwonderful\u201d too.<\/p>\n

Part 1 of Wicked<\/em>\u2019s two-part movie adaptation was released in November 2024 and followed the first act of the iconic Broadway show that shares the backstory of Glinda and Elphaba before the events of The Wizard of Oz<\/em>.<\/p>\n

While the first film ended with Glinda and Elphaba parting ways before Elphaba fled Shiz University, part two will pick up a few years later with Elphaba, now the Wicked Witch of the West, continuing her plans to help the land\u2019s animals when Glinda rises to power as the Wizard\u2019s spokeswoman.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter an emotional night full of dedications, season 34 of Dancing With the Stars is celebrating Wicked with a themed night \u2014 but what performances can viewers look forward to with the performances? ABC released details ahead of the Tuesday, October 21, episode about how the night will celebrate Wicked: For Good with director Jon [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s wonderful about the show is that you get an insight into why this woman becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, but you have only three hours to do it in,\u201d Erivo, 38, told Entertainment Weekly<\/em> in February about why Wicked was split into separate parts. \u201cWith us, you have two movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

She noted that Glinda and Elphaba\u2019s friendship has also been \u201cexpanded\u201d thanks to the extra time, adding, \u201cThat\u2019s a really important, special thing that you have in the show, but here you really get to go with them in that. We\u2019ve got something really special.\u201d<\/p>\n

For Good<\/em> will also reveal how Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion came together. Ethan Slater<\/strong>, who portrayed Boq in the first movie, gave a sneak peek of his character\u2019s transformation<\/a> into Tin Man earlier this month, while For Good<\/em>\u2019s trailer has shared brief glimpses at Fieryo\u2019s (Jonathan Bailey<\/strong>) Scarecrow look. The actress portraying Dorothy remains under wraps, but it was revealed earlier this week<\/a> that Colman Domingo<\/strong> will be voicing the Cowardly Lion.<\/p>\n

Ahead of Domingo\u2019s reveal, Chu teased he had cast a major A-lister in the role after sliding into their DMs. \u201cI was like, \u2018It\u2019s not a ton of lines, but maybe you have a little time. I know you\u2019re busy. I\u2019ll come to you,\u2019\u201d the filmmaker recalled to Deadline<\/em><\/a> in an October 16 interview. \u201cHe was like, \u2018Why the f*** not, let\u2019s go!\u2019 And then we went ahead and recorded the lines.\u201d<\/p>\n

Songs from both Wicked<\/em> and Wicked: For Good<\/em> were featured on Tuesday\u2019s episode of Dancing With the Stars<\/em>, from Robert Irwin<\/strong> and Witney Caron<\/strong>\u2019s jazz performance of \u201cDancing Through Life\u201d to Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em><\/a>\u2019 Whitney Leavitt<\/strong> and Mark Ballas<\/strong>\u2019 quickstep to \u201cPopular.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grande and Erivo also made video cameos throughout the night alongside Bailey\u00a0<\/a>and Michelle Yeoh<\/strong>, who portrays Madame Morrible in the films. Chu also served as guest judge for the week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWicked is a beloved tale of two best friends who change each other\u2019s lives for good,\u201d Erivo said, while Grande added, \u201cSo rejoicify! Let\u2019s kick off this special Wicked celebration with a speculator opening number created by our wonderful choreographer Chris Scott<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n
