Rachael Kirkconnell<\/strong> inadvertently just spilled some major tea about her former relationship with Matt James<\/strong> in that she hasn\u2019t had sex in \u201cyears.\u201d The former couple, who met on season 25 of The Bachelor<\/em>, recently ended their relationship for good in January 2025.<\/p>\n The 29-year-old appeared on the October 16 episode of Hallie Batchelder\u2019s \u201cExtra Dirty\u201d podcast<\/a>, where the host asked Kirkconnell how her \u201csingle era\u201d has been.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve been so chronically single, I haven\u2019t been on a single date,\u201d she admitted, adding that she\u2019s not currently on dating apps, but \u201cif it gets to a point, I might have to jump on them.\u201d<\/p>\n But in addition to her Bachelor<\/em> fame, Kirkconnell said that part of the reason for her dry spell is that she prefers to form an emotional bond with a potential lover before jumping in bed. She also confessed that she\u2019s never had a one night stand before.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a minute \u2026 I gotta rip the band-aid off. It\u2019s been so long at this point,\u201d Kirkconnell told Batchelder, noting that she was worried sex would \u201churt\u201d at this point. \u201cI feel like a virgin again. OK, I don\u2019t think that we\u2019ve like discussed\u2014I haven\u2019t had sex way longer than you think. I\u2019ll just put it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been years. Years. It has been so<\/em> long,\u201d she emphasized. \u201cAnd that\u2019s why I\u2019m saying, like I feel like a virgin again to where I don\u2019t want to just give it up to anyone. It\u2019s like almost like I can\u2019t just like hook up with someone random at this point because it\u2019s been so long that I want it to be incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like how we felt when we were in high school,\u201d Kirkconnell continued. \u201cI\u2019m not going to say everyone felt like this, but you know how everyone just makes losing your virginity like such a big deal and that it\u2019s someone special. That\u2019s how I feel. I can\u2019t just give it up to just like anyone.\u201d<\/p>\n Kirkconnell\u2019s stint on The Bachelor<\/em> came with no shortage of drama. Though James ultimately chose her in the season finale, he ended things with her<\/a> during the After the Final Rose special due to racially insensitive details from her past that came to light while the season was airing<\/a>. James was the first Black lead in the franchise.<\/p>\n The controversy resulted in longtime host Chris Harrison stepping down<\/a> after he attempted to defend Kirkconnell\u2019s past. When photos surfaced of the Georgia native attending a fraternity\u2019s antebellum plantation themed ball in college, as well as wearing a Native American costume, Harrison called for<\/a> \u201ca little grace, a little understanding, [and] a little compassion,\u201d resulting in swift backlash from fans.<\/p>\n However, the couple ended up getting back together about a month after the finale in April 2021, and remained an item until splitting for good earlier this year.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
