Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published a statement<\/a> Tuesday to \u201cset the record straight\u201d on the company\u2019s alignment with Trump administration AI policy, responding to what he called \u201ca recent uptick in inaccurate claims about Anthropic\u2019s policy stances.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cAnthropic is built on a simple principle: AI should be a force for\u00a0human progress, not peril,\u201d Amodei wrote.\u00a0\u201cThat means making products that are\u00a0genuinely useful, speaking honestly about risks and benefits, and working with anyone serious about getting this right.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Amodei\u2019s response comes after last week\u2019s dogpiling on Anthropic<\/a> from AI leaders and top members of the Trump administration, including AI czar David Sacks and White House senior policy advisor for AI Sriram Krishnan<\/a> \u2014 all accusing the AI giant of stoking fears to damage the industry. \u00a0<\/p>\n The first hit came from Sacks after Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark shared<\/a> his hopes and \u201cappropriate fears\u201d about AI, including that AI is a powerful, mysterious, \u201csomewhat unpredictable\u201d creature, not a dependable machine that\u2019s easily mastered and put to work. \u00a0<\/p>\n Sacks\u2019s response<\/a>: \u201cAnthropic is running a sophisticated regulatory capture strategy based on fear-mongering.
