Based on Jeffery Deaver\u2018s novel The Never Game, Tracker centers around a survivalist named Colter who travels the country helping find missing people (or sometimes dogs) and solving cases [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Reid noted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/what-sofia-pernas-tracker-return-means-for-justin-hartleys-love-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the perk of <em>Tracker<\/em>\u2018s success<\/a> is finding ways to raise the stakes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I watch a lot of these types of shows, the minute the character becomes infallible or perfect then I\u2019m uninterested,\u201d Reid explained. \u201cI like when characters have flaws and make mistakes and are mortal and can be wounded and can screw up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cI\u2019m very conscious of not making Colter too perfect. We are scuffing him up, letting him screw up and letting him do the wrong thing. Hartley, 48, who stars in the show is also an executive producer, hinted at how far<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/everything-to-know-about-tracker-season-3-possible-cast-changes-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> the show will push his character.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just love that when you watch a show like that and you tune into season 1 and then you tune into the last season, you see the development of the character and you go, \u2018Wait a minute, are they playing different roles?\u2019 But then if you watch it throughout the years, you experience those things with the characters,\u201d he told <em>TV Insider<\/em> in September 2024. \u201cAs competent and confident as Colter is, I don\u2019t at all think for a second that he doesn\u2019t have a ton to learn, especially about himself and his family and all that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued: \u201cGoing forward, I think that will be how the show lives on a long runway, is that we keep developing this character and he becomes better at what he\u2019s doing. I like being Colter as a hero, finding people and all that. I also really like seeing him in a suspenseful thriller and a dangerous situation,\u201d he told <em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> in April. \u201cI don\u2019t want our audience to forget that this man is mortal, he\u2019s not a superhero. He can die!
