Automaker Stellantis and Chinese autonomous vehicle company Pony.ai have signed a nonbinding agreement to build robotaxis for deployment in Europe. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The collaboration will integrate Pony\u2019s self-driving software into Stellantis\u2019 electric medium-size van platform, which is built with advanced sensors to support autonomous vehicles.<\/p>\n
The companies plan to first deploy test vehicles based on the Peugeot e-Traveller model. Testing will begin in Luxembourg, Pony\u2019s European headquarters, in the coming months, with plans to roll out more vehicles across European cities starting in 2026. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The tie-up comes a few months after Pony announced a partnership with Uber<\/a> to deploy in international markets, including Europe and the Middle East. It also comes after the company received an autonomous vehicle testing permit from Luxembourg in April.\u00a0<\/p>\n As Pony.ai works to expand beyond its existing markets in China and carve out market share in Europe, the company is also chasing a second IPO. Already listed on the Nasdaq, Pony is also pursuing a secondary listing on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
