Tina Turner died on Wednesday<\/a> at the age of 83.<\/p>\n\u201cTina Turner, the Queen of Rock\u2019n Roll has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in K\u00fcsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland,\u201d said the Grammy-winning icon\u2019s publicist on May 24.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith her, the world loses a music legend and a role model. There will be a private funeral ceremony attended by close friends and family. (Getty)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nA day after this terrible news broke, Turner\u2019s cause of death has been attributed to natural causes<\/strong>, her representatives confirmed to DailyMail.com. <\/p>\nHer aforementioned publicist also told NBC News her death came after a long illness, although she did not cite the illness.<\/p>\n
Back in 2017, Turner underwent kidney transplant. <\/p>\n
She later detailed her medical journey in an interview with the European Health Kidney Alliance just this past March.<\/p>\nTina Turner was a true all-time great. \u201cFrom time to time my body tried to reject the donor kidney as it frequently happens after a transplantation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Turner catapulted herself to the top of the charts with \u201cWhat\u2019s Love Got to Do with It\u201d from 1984\u2019s Private Dancer.<\/p>\n
The track earned her the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1985. <\/p>\n

In response to the this loss, a number of celebrities have paid tribute to the multiple-time Grammy winner.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn addition to being a once-in-a-generation talent that changed American music forever, Tina\u2019s personal strength was remarkable,\u201d said President Joe Biden, for example.<\/p>\n
\u201cOvercoming adversity, and even abuse, she built a career for the ages and a life and legacy that were entirely hers.<\/p>\n
