If not, they\u2019re not standards. They\u2019re just suggestions. Suggestions that get our sons and daughters killed,\u201d Hegseth said at the event.<\/p>\n<p>While there are no questions about the main character\u2019s physical fitness to serve in <em>Boots<\/em>, and he is not \u201cgender neutral,\u201d but Pentagon press secretary Kingsley Wilson still lashed out at the show in a recent statement to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/pentagon-slams-netflix-gay-military-drama-boots-11831105\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder President Trump and Secretary [Pete] Hegseth, the US military is getting back to restoring the warrior ethos. Our standards across the board are elite, uniform, and sex-neutral because the weight of a rucksack or a human being doesn\u2019t care if you\u2019re a man, a woman, gay, or straight,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/pentagon-slams-netflix-gay-military-drama-boots-11831105\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said Wilson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BOOTS | Official Trailer | Netflix\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2mjN2f5tu2s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cWe will not compromise our standards to satisfy an ideological agenda, unlike Netflix whose leadership consistently produces and feeds woke garbage to their audience and children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration has been going on the attack against entertainers and media outlets whose views do not perfectly align with their own, but thus far, those attacks have had the opposite of the intended effect.<\/p>\n<p>For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2025\/09\/jimmy-kimmel-returns-tears-up-in-most-anticipated-monologue-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jimmy Kimmel enjoyed a massive ratings surge<\/a> after he was briefly removed from ABC following public pressure from FCC Chair Brendan Carr.<\/p>\n<p>And in its first week of release, Boots has proven to be a massive hit for Netflix.
