This news came as part of a motion filed by the executors in response, per People<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cFew have benefited more from the Executors\u2019 business judgment than Petitioner herself, who has received roughly $65 million from the Estate in benefits,\u201d they write in the filing, saying they turned her dad\u2019s estate into a global brand.<\/p>\n \u201cShe would have never received that had the Executors followed a typical playbook for an estate like this one in July 2009,\u201d the filing reads, citing previous praise from a judge.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Executors\u2019 business judgment has taken an estate that \u2018started out as nothing but debt and substantial ongoing obligations\u2019 and \u2018turned [it] into a $2 billion estate\u2019 \u2014 an estate that is now \u2018a powerhouse and a force in the music business today.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier in the year, Paris<\/strong> filed a petition objecting to \u201cgifts\u201d and \u201cgratuities\u201d of $625,000 paid to three law firms for what Paris<\/strong> called \u201cuncaptured time.\u201d<\/p>\n Sony bought EMI shares from Michael Jackson<\/strong> estate in 2018, which is allegedly when the executors requested approval for $625,000 in payments to three law firms. <\/p>\n The legal battle actually extends back to 2010, when a court order granted executors of the estate the ability to pay attorneys without getting court approval. Paris <\/strong>wants that decision revoked. There will be another court hearing on Thursday (October 16), per People<\/em>.<\/p>\n Paris <\/strong>also recently called out the upcoming biopic about her dad.<\/a><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
