Brittany Cartwright recently split from her boyfriend<\/p>\n
\nThe 36-year-old reality star recently announced that she’d ended her relationship with Brandon and Brittany feels “proud” of herself for having taken such a tough decision,<\/p>\n
\nA source told Us Weekly: “The distance and obligations were too much for her and she didn\u2019t see it going anywhere long term.<\/p>\n
\n“Brittany is really proud of herself for showing growth and knowing when things are done instead of trying to stick around and be unhappy.”<\/p>\n
\nBrittany – who has Cruz, four, with her estranged husband Jax Taylor – is said to be “focusing on her and Cruz\u2019s happiness right now”.<\/p>\n
\nThe reality star recently announced her split from Brandon, two months after their relationship became public.<\/p>\n
\nShe said on the When Reality Hits podcast: “We actually did not last.<\/p>\n
\n“We were very good friends before we started dating. It was kind of like a whirlwind relationship. It went into the public way sooner than we ever would have wanted it to.”<\/p>\n
\nDespite this, Brittany insisted that she doesn’t harbour any ill will towards Brandon.<\/p>\n
\nThe reality TV star also explained that the relationship ended “amicably”.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “We still care a lot about each other.<\/p>\n
\n“It ended amicably, but I just could not do the long distance and he’s got a lot of obligations with his three kids and jobs, and we lived three hours away, so it was just too tough to keep it going. We really cared about each other. Hopefully, we can remain friends, but it’s just something I didn’t see that was going to be able to continue in the future.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Brittany previously claimed that she did her best to save her marriage to Jax.<\/p>\n
\nThe 46-year-old star struggled with addiction for years, but Brittany made every effort to help and support him, before she eventually walked away.<\/p>\n
\nShe said on When Reality Hits: “No one wants Jax to be better more than I do, let\u2019s be real.<\/p>\n
\n“I tried and tried and tried for years to help this man get better and for us to be a happy family, I was deeply and madly in love with him, there\u2019s no one that can ever deny that.”<\/p>\n
