Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> made sure to pay homage to Diane Keaton<\/a><\/strong> after her death at age 79.<\/p>\n

Hours after news broke that Keaton died, the show shared a tribute card at the end of the Saturday, October 12, episode. In the black-and-white image, Keaton had a big smile and was wearing a collared shirt and tie. Her name was displayed alongside the photograph.<\/p>\n

The NBC variety show\u2019s official account uploaded a picture via X, writing, \u201cDiane Keaton,\u201d alongside a red heart emoji.<\/p>\n

Host and SNL<\/em> alum Amy Poehler<\/strong> also gave a subtle nod to the late actress by wearing a collared shirt and tie during farewells, before the episode came to an end. (Role Model<\/strong> performed as the musical guest during the Saturday episode.)<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Keaton\u2019s family told People<\/em> on Saturday that she died in California and noted that they would not be sharing further details while asking \u201cfor privacy.\u201d Keaton is survived by her two children<\/a>: daughter Dexter and son Duke, whom she adopted in 1996 and 2001, respectively.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> reached out for comment.<\/p>\n

One day later, Keaton\u2019s close friend, Carole Bayer Sager<\/strong>, opened up about the late actress\u2019 health<\/a> prior to her death.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw her two or three weeks ago, and she was very thin,\u201d Sager told People<\/em> in an interview published on Sunday, October 12. \u201cShe had lost so much weight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sager explained that she and Keaton interacted less this year, noting that the January wildfires in California led the actress to spend time in Palm Springs.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had to go to Palm Springs because her house had been damaged inside, and they had to clean everything,\u201d Sager recalled on Sunday. \u201cShe was down there for a while, and when she came back, I was kind of stunned by how much weight she\u2019d lost.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the wake of her death, several celebrities have mourned<\/a> Keaton\u2019s loss. SNL<\/em> cast member Ashley Padilla<\/strong>, who worked as Keaton\u2019s assistant, paid tribute to the Father of the Bride<\/em> actress via social media.<\/p>\n
