Stars have paid tribute to the late Diane Keaton<\/p>\n
The Snatched actress paid tribute to her First Wives Club co-star following her passing at the age of 79 and remembered her friend as a “genius” who she will “miss the hell out of”.<\/p>\n
She wrote on Instagram: \u201cDiane, we aren\u2019t ready to lose you. You\u2019ve left us with a trail of fairy dust, filled with particles of light and memories beyond imagination.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow do we say goodbye? What words can come to mind when your heart is broken? You never liked praise, so humble, but now you can\u2019t tell me to \u2018shut up\u2019 honey. There was, and will be, no one like you.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou stole the hearts of the world and shared your genius with millions, making films that made us laugh and cry in ways only you could.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was blessed to make First Wives Club with you, our days starting with coffee in the makeup trailer, laughing and joking, right through to the very last day of filming. It was a roller coaster of love.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe agreed to grow old together, and one day, maybe live together with all our girlfriends. Well, we never got to live together, but we did grow older together.<\/p>\n
\n“Who knows\u2026 maybe in the next life. Shine your fairy dust up there, girlfriend. I\u2019m going to miss the hell out of you.<\/p>\n
\n” My heart goes out to your beautiful children, Dex and Duke. I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSteve Martin shared a light-hearted tribute to his Father of the Bride co-star.<\/p>\n
\nHe shared a clip from Interview Magazine in which Martin Short asked Diane which of the two actors were sexier and she replied: \u201cI mean, you\u2019re both idiots.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nThe Only Murders in the Building star captioned the post: “It sums up our delightful relationship with Diane.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMandy Moore hailed playing Diane’s daughter in 2007’s Because I Said So “an honour of a lifetime”.<\/p>\n
\nShe wrote on Instagram: \u201cThey say don\u2019t meet your heros but I got to work with one of mine and even call her \u2018mom\u2019 for a few months. An honor of a lifetime.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhat an incandescent human Di is and was. I am so sad she\u2019s gone for all the reasons but also because it felt like she\u2019d be here forever, dazzling us with her talent and charm (and her style, c\u2019mon)!!! One of the very best to ever do it. All my love to her children and loved ones.(sic)”<\/p>\n
\nAnd Leonardo DiCaprio, who starred in 1996’s Marvin’s Room with the actress, also described working with Diane an “honour”.<\/p>\n
\nHe shared a photo seemingly taken from the time of shooting the movie and wrote on his Instagram Story: “Diane Keaton was one of a kind. Brilliant, funny, and unapologetically herself.<\/p>\n
\n“A legend, and icon, and a truly kind human being. I had the honor of working with her at 18. She will be deeply missed.”<\/p>\n
\nJane Fonda remembered her Book Club co-star as a “spark of life and light” and praised her acting talent.<\/p>\n
\nShe shared a photo of her friend on Instagram and wrote: \u201cIt\u2019s hard to believe\u2026or accept\u2026that Diane has passed.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cShe was always a spark of life and light, constantly giggling at her own foibles, being limitlessly creative\u2026in her acting, her wardrobe, her books, her friends, her homes, her library, her world view. Unique is what she was. And, though she didn\u2019t know it or wouldn\u2019t admit it, man she was a fine actress!(sic)”<\/p>\n
