It only makes sense for Angel Reese<\/strong> to become a Victoria\u2019s Secret angel.<\/p>\n

Reese will make history at the Victoria\u2019s Secret Fashion Show on Wednesday, October 15 in New York City, becoming the first professional athlete to walk the runway.<\/p>\n

The Chicago Sky star announced the news on her Instagram on Thursday, October 9.<\/p>\n

\u201cStepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria Secret ANGEL,\u201d Reese, 23, wrote at the time, alongside behind-the-scenes photos from a Victoria\u2019s Secret photoshoot. \u201cI\u2019m finally getting my wings. I\u2019ll be walking the Victoria\u2019s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. Wings on, heels ready \u2026 Catch me on the runway.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Victoria\u2019s Secret social media page also posted in celebration of Reese\u2019s addition to the lineup.<\/p>\n

\u201cAngel Reese, welcome to the runway,\u201d the company posted via Instagram on Thursday. \u201cThe first professional athlete angel \u2026 major is an understatement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fashion show first started in 1995, gaining more popularity in 2001. It ran annually until 2019, when it was discontinued briefly after the brand was heavily criticized for its lack of racial and body inclusivity. The show came back last year, in 2024. Reese was in the crowd for the reimagined show, which featured musical performances from Cher, Lisa, and Tyla.<\/p>\n

In an interview with People<\/em><\/a>, Reese called Thursday\u2019s announcement a \u201cfull-circle moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI literally could not stop smiling!\u201d Reese told the outlet. \u201cIt\u2019s such a surreal and full-circle moment \u2014 just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway, and now I get to return as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I\u2019ll forever be grateful for.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese also shared how excited she is to be part of the iconic show via her Instagram Story.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really manifested this,\u201d she wrote. \u201cMy dreams, my work, my ambition are all coming to life! See you October 15th!\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese has previously said she wants to add modeling to her repertoire, in addition to her athletic achievements.<\/p>\n

Reese also announced a collaboration with Juicy Couture, the clothing and accessories company, on Monday, October 6, via Instagram.<\/p>\n

The Sky posted a congratulatory post on Instagram for their star, showing a montage of her pregame walk-in outfits from the season.<\/p>\n

The announcement comes after Reece missed the Sky\u2019s final three games of the season due to injury. At the end of the year, the team suspended her for half a game for \u201cstatements detrimental to the team.\u201d<\/p>\n
