Diane Keaton<\/strong><\/a> reportedly faced upheaval with her health in the final months before her death at age 79.<\/p>\n Keaton\u2019s spokesperson announced on Saturday, October 11, that the actress had died<\/a> at age 79 without offering any further details. Her family \u201casked for privacy\u201d as they grieved their immense loss.<\/p>\n Us Weekly<\/em> reached out to Keaton\u2019s representatives for comment on her death.<\/p>\n A friend of Keaton\u2019s subsequently told People<\/em><\/a> the Annie Hall<\/em> star\u2019s health \u201cdeclined very suddenly\u201d in her last few months as she withdrew from public life. While Keaton was once a fixture of her Brentwood, California, neighborhood \u2014 including taking daily walks with her dog Reggie \u2014 she suddenly stopped appearing in public earlier this year, according to her friend.<\/p>\n Keaton reportedly chose to keep the nature of her health issues private from many of her friends, choosing instead to surround herself only with her \u201cher closest family.\u201d She was the mother of two children: daughter Dexter and son Duke, whom she had adopted when they were babies.<\/p>\n In March, it was reported<\/a> that Keaton put her 1920s-style Sullivan Canyon home on the market and even slashed $1.4 Million off the asking process in hopes of selling it quickly. The news was particularly shocking since Keaton practically rebuilt the property from the ground up.<\/p>\n She walked fans through her meticulous multi-year renovation in her 2017 design guide The House That Pinterest Built<\/em>, in which she detailed how using Pinterest boards helped increase the 9,200 square foot residence\u2019s value. (Keaton bought the Sullivan Canyon estate for $4.7 million in 2011, before putting it on the market for $27.5 million earlier this year.)<\/p>\n Speaking to Architectural Digest<\/em><\/a> in 2017, Keaton mentioned how \u201csoothing\u201d it was to rely on other people\u2019s design innovations from Pinterest while remodeling her home.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m still in love with it; I\u2019m still in love with Pinterest!\u201d she exclaimed happily. \u201cTo me, it\u2019s soothing, because you\u2019re also on a hunt. It leads to something else, and that leads to something else, and it just goes on and on. And that\u2019s the light you want \u2014 the light from the computer. It just makes everything look better.\u201d<\/p>\n Aside from Pinterest, Keaton took surprising inspiration for the remodeling process from the classic children\u2019s fable, The Three Little Pigs<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201c[The pigs\u2019 house] was made of bricks,\u201d she wrote in The House That Pinterest Built<\/em>. \u201cI knew I was going to live in a brick house when I grew up.\u201d<\/p>\n The Academy Award-winning actress was survived by her two children, Dexter and Duke, whom she adopted in her 50s<\/a>. She never married, though she had high-profile romances with costars Woody Allen<\/strong>, Al Pacino<\/strong> and Warren Beatty<\/strong> in the 1970s.<\/p>\n Many of Keaton\u2019s friends, co-stars and famous fans offered poignant tributes following the shocking news of the Hollywood legend\u2019s death.<\/p>\n \u201cThis breaks my heart,\u201d Keaton\u2019s Father of the Bride<\/em> costar Kimberly Williams-Paisley<\/strong> wrote. \u201cGetting to work with Diane Keaton will always be one of the highlights of my life.
