\nAs the ceremony came to a close, Liam blew a kiss towards the blue coffin, emblazoned with the words \u2018Blue Moon\u2019, before it began its final journey to the Etihad Stadium, home of Ricky\u2019s beloved Manchester City.<\/p>\n
\nAmong the other famous faces attending the service were Shaun Ryder, Mark \u2018Bez\u2019 Berry, comedian Paddy McGuinness and cricketer Andrew \u2018Freddie\u2019 Flintoff \u2013\u00a0as well as nightclub owner Wayne Lineker and boxing champions Tyson Fury, Anthony Crolla, Amir Khan, Frazer Clarke, Frank Bruno, Barry McGuigan and Tony Bellew.<\/p>\n
\nFormer Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen were also among the mourners.<\/p>\n
\nFollowing Ricky\u2019s death, Liam paid tribute on social media, posting on X: \u201cAbsolutely devastated to hear the news about RICKY HATTON. It was an absolute honour to know him and carry his belts. RIP CHAMP. LIVE FOREVER. LG x.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThat same sentiment carried over to Oasis\u2019s Wembley Stadium shows last month \u2013 their first UK performances since Ricky\u2019s death \u2013 where a giant image of the boxer was displayed as the band performed Live Forever.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nWembley\u2019s official social media account later shared a photo of the tribute, captioned: \u201cFor Ricky (blue heart emoji.)\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRicky had been a devoted Oasis fan and a close friend of both Gallagher brothers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nHe famously walked to the ring at Las Vegas\u2019s MGM Grand in 2008 for his victory over Paulie Malignaggi while Oasis\u2019 music played, with Liam and his brother Noel, 58, carrying his championship belts alongside him.<\/p>\n
\nThe boxer had attended Oasis\u2019 Heaton Park and Dublin gigs weeks before his death.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nIn comments made last month, Noel Gallagher, said he had been in touch with Ricky shortly beforehand.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\nHe told TalkSport: \u201cWe were texting each other last week.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd I saw him at Heaton Park a couple of the nights, and he was on standard Ricky form. He was wisecracking with everyone, he was having a drink, he was great.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe don\u2019t know what has happened, but he did struggle with mental health, that\u2019s widely known, and it just shows you that you never really know. It\u2019s such a shame. He\u2019s a great Mancunian.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nNoel added: \u201cHe was a lovely, lovely lad. One of the lads. He was one of us. It\u2019s sad we\u2019ll never see him at the Etihad again, but that\u2019s life, isn\u2019t it.\u201d<\/p>\n
