Andy Cohen<\/strong><\/a> has no plans of reining in his drinking while cohosting CNN\u2019s New Year\u2019s Eve Live<\/em><\/a> with pal Anderson Cooper<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s fun for me because I\u2019m a guest on CNN, so I\u2019m like a visitor,\u201d Cohen, 54, told Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Wednesday, December 28. \u201cI\u2019m going to just march back to Bravo at 12:30 in the morning and be done with it.\u201d<\/p>\n The longtime Bravo host and producer joked: \u201cAnd so I can kind of torch the place while I\u2019m there, and then head out.\u201d<\/p>\n The Watch What Happens Live! With Andy Cohen<\/em> star further explained that his \u201cjob\u201d on the annual New Year\u2019s Eve broadcast is to \u201ctake Anderson out of his comfort zone<\/a>\u201d and have a good time.<\/p>\n \u201cMy job is to be a party ringleader<\/a> for everyone watching us on New Year\u2019s Eve,\u201d Cohen told the outlet. \u201cAnd that is what I will continue to do.\u201d<\/p>\n The Missouri native has been working alongside Cooper, 55, since the 2017-18 show. While the BFFs have been known for knocking back shots on camera, it wasn\u2019t until the 2021-22 broadcast that Cohen really made waves for his shenanigans<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Radio Andy<\/em> host<\/a> turned heads in January when he threw shade at Ryan Seacrest<\/strong><\/a> and his work on Dick Clark\u2019s New Year\u2019s Rockin\u2019 Eve<\/em> event.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you look behind me, you\u2019ll see Ryan Seacrest\u2019s group of losers performing<\/a>. \u2026 I\u2019m sorry but if you\u2019re watching ABC, you\u2019re watching nothing,\u201d Cohen said at the time. \u201cWe were doused with confetti from fake Journey on ABC. This is fun,\u2019\u201d Cohen said on The Howard Stern Show<\/em><\/a> in January. \u201cSo I kept going and that I felt bad about and I texted Ryan the next morning.\u201d<\/p>\n CNN later released a statement backing Cohen, noting that while the TV personality<\/a> \u201csaid something he shouldn\u2019t have on live TV,\u201d the network was looking \u201cforward to having him back again next year.\u201d<\/p>\n Last month, Variety<\/em> reported that CNN chairman Chris Licht<\/strong> planned to sober up New Year\u2019s Eve Live<\/em><\/a> following the 2021-22 controversy. Cohen, however, declared on WWHL<\/em> in November that he was going to \u201cparty harder\u201d<\/a> than ever.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat [Chris Licht] said was that he didn\u2019t want the correspondents out there drinking, but that he wanted Anderson and I to do our thing,\u201d the former Millionaire Matchmaker<\/em> producer<\/a> told The<\/em> Hollywood Reporter<\/em> amid speculation that the new guidelines were directed at him. \u201cSo I\u2019m happy to do our thing. My only directive for years on CNN has been to have fun on New Year\u2019s Eve, and that is absolutely what I plan to do.\u201d<\/p>\n Cohen doubled down on his party plans while speaking with Rolling Stone<\/em> on Wednesday, confirming that \u201cCNN said the correspondents will not be drinking.\u201d<\/p>\n He clarified that he and Cooper \u201cwill be the people partying on CNN,\u201d adding that they would be doing so \u201cresponsibly.\u201d<\/p>\n The Most Talkative<\/em> author<\/a> added: \u201cAnd as a matter of fact, if the correspondents are not drinking this year, I will be partying even harder on their behalf.\u201d<\/p>\n
