Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> Live!, he said: “I presented there, I think it was four years ago at this point, and I have not been invited back.”<\/p>\nLate night host Jimmy recalled how Seth referenced the setting for the pandemic ceremony.<\/p>\n
He explained: “You said, and this is a direct quote: \u2018Let me start by saying there\u2019s way too many of us in this little room. What are they doing?<\/p>\n
\n“‘They said this was outdoors. It is not. They lied to us. We are in a hermetically sealed tent right now. I would not have come to this. Why is there a roof?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSeth insisted producers lied to him by claiming the ceremony was going to be held outdoors in light of the pandemic.<\/p>\n
\nHe added: “And I had all intention of doing the dumb schtick that they had written for me.<\/p>\n
\n“And then I showed up, and I was like, \u2018We\u2019re in a tent. I can\u2019t ignore this.<\/p>\n
\n“‘We\u2019re going to kill these old \u2026 Eugene Levy\u2018s here. We\u2019re going to kill Eugene Levy. I don\u2019t want to do that.’ “<\/p>\n
\nSeth noted that some Emmy producers were “outwardly p***** off” by the end of his monologue, while Jimmy confirmed he is actually “banned” from hosted the show in the future.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “Can I tell you something? I checked today because, you know, I\u2019ve hosted the Emmys quite a few times. And you are indeed banned from presenting.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSeth couldn’t help but reference Jimmy’s own recent suspension, when his late night talk show was briefly pulled off air following comments about the murder of Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n
\nHe quipped: “I’m with you. I’m like you. They’re trying to silence me.”<\/p>\n
\nHowever, he acknowledged that he went “very off-book and made them look bad”, and he understands why the Emmys team were’t happy.<\/p>\n
\nIt’s not hurt his prospects for the awards, as this year he won both the Best Actor In A Comedy series and Best Directing For A Comedy Series prizes, while The Studio also won Best Comedy Series among its 13 honours at the event last month.<\/p>\n
