Alec Baldwin<\/a>, 67, did not help her secure a place on the new season of Dancing with the Stars.<\/p>\nSpeaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast hosted by Amanda Hirsch, Hilaria said she earned her spot on the show \u201con her own merit\u201d and Alec had no involvement in her casting. <\/p>\n
She declared: \u201cIf he ever made a call, that would make things easier on me, I would feel like I didn\u2019t deserve it. I\u2019m a hard worker. I want to earn things on my own merit. I think especially because anybody who marries a celebrity is going to be accused of being\u2026 .\u201d<\/p>\n
Host Amanda interrupted to say: \u201cA nepo wife,\u201d to which Hilaria replied: \u201cRight. It makes you feel like you don\u2019t earn things, which is just a horrible feeling. Especially as a Capricorn, a horrible feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHilaria said her independence sometimes frustrates Alec, adding: \u201cOne of the things that drives Alec crazy about me is how independent I am, even with simple things like opening the door for myself. He\u2019s very proud, he\u2019s very supportive. Alec is always extraordinarily supportive of me with working.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nRust actor Alec has reportedly encouraged Hilarie to take part in Dancing with the Stars for years. <\/p>\n
\nHis wife said he had been \u201cwanting her to be on DWTS for a very long time\u201d but she initially hesitated, believing \u201cnobody was going to want to have (me) there.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe also explained she eventually changed her mind after producers approached her and fans began \u201cmanifesting it for her online\u201d when she posted dance videos on social media. <\/p>\n
\nHilaria added: \u201cBut I am happy that it happened in the way that it happened. It was so organic.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe yoga instructor and Growing Up Together podcast host also addressed criticism that she has an advantage due to previous dance experience.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cApparently, that happens every single year. So when it started happening again, my biggest fear was doing this and people being like, \u2018You don\u2019t belong here.\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018I just want to dance and I\u2019ll work hard.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHilaria and Alec, who married in 2012, share seven children \u2013 Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, nine, Romeo, six, Eduardo, five, Mar\u00eda, also five, and Ilaria, three.<\/p>\n
