James Van Der Beek<\/strong><\/a> is stepping back onto the sidelines.<\/p>\n

Tubi offered a first look at the Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/em><\/a> alum in the upcoming movie Sidelined 2: Intercepted<\/em> on Monday, October 6. The film is a sequel to the 2024 movie Sidelined: The QB and Me<\/em>, starring Noah Beck<\/strong> and Siena Agudong<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Van Der Beek will be reprising his role as Leroy Lahey, who is Beck\u2019s character\u2019s dad. One newly released still<\/a> from the movie showed Beck, 24, in a University of Southern California football jersey standing alongside Van Der Beek on a football field while being interviewed.<\/p>\n

The movie is set to premiere on Tubi next month.<\/p>\n

Beck, 24, shared a behind-the-scenes look at himself and Van Der Beek on set this past April when filming officially wrapped.<\/p>\n

\u201cU all already know how much this project means to me. The love the first film got exceeded all expectations, but to get a second one??? Now that\u2019s love,\u201d Beck captioned a series of Instagram photos<\/a> at the time. \u201cThe set environment we have built on this project truly reflects the product, and it stems from the whole cast to the entirety of the crew.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDespite looking forward to the long-awaited Dawson\u2019s Creek reunion, actor James Van Der Beek has announced he won\u2019t be in attendance. \u201cThis is the evening I\u2019d been looking forward to MOST since my angel Michelle Williams said she was putting it together, way back in January\u2026\u201d Van Der Beek, 48, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He concluded, \u201cBeing able to step into the shoes of Drayton for another movie was a dream and I can\u2019t wait for u to experience the ups and downs of college life w him xx.\u201d<\/p>\n

Van Der Beek\u2019s appearance in the upcoming film comes amid his ongoing cancer battle.<\/p>\n

The actor recently missed out on the Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/em> New York City reunion because he was healing from an illness. The actor did, however, make a rare virtual appearance<\/a>. (The September 22 event at the Richard Rodgers Theatre was put together<\/a> by Dawson\u2019s Creek<\/em> alum Michelle Williams<\/strong> to raise money for F Cancer.)<\/p>\n

While the actor has yet to discuss his upcoming appearance in Sidelined 2: Intercepted<\/em>, Van Der Beek has previously showed off the fun he had on the movie series\u2019 set.<\/p>\n

Van Der Beek shared a TikTok video alongside Beck in June 2024, and the duo discussed their onscreen father-son bond.<\/p>\n

\u201cNoah, be honest, how would you rate Leroy as a father?\u201d Van Der Beek asked. \u201cFrom one to 10. One being the worst, 10 being the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beck wanted to clarify whether Van Der Beek meant \u201cearly on in the story or later.\u201d After the two landed on an \u201coverall\u201d rating, Beck offered him a seven out of 10.<\/p>\n
