In a new episode of his podcast \u201cArmchair Expert\u201d Dax Shepard<\/strong> spoke with fellow actor Charlie Sheen<\/strong> about his recently released Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen<\/em>.<\/p>\n The film deep dives into Sheen\u2019s life, from his childhood to the public and private journey he\u2019s been on throughout his career.<\/p>\n In the podcast interview, Shepard brought up the pattern he noticed in Sheen\u2019s life as he watched the documentary, where as soon as Sheen would reach a new height career-wise, it would be followed by a massive descent to rock bottom.<\/p>\n \u201cThe pattern\u2019s so insanely obvious it\u2019s, like, ridiculous. The pattern is: you get a ton, you f***ing obliterate, you got nothing, you somehow get a ton, you obliterate it,\u201d Shepard said in the interview.<\/p>\n Shepard then explained that after watching the documentary<\/a> and becoming aware of that being Sheen\u2019s pattern, he was fearful of seeing him rise to the top again, and even more fearful of being someone who contributed to it.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m so scared for you to be given all the s*** again,\u201d Shepard said, before asking Sheen, \u201cAre you afraid?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not,\u201d Sheen responded, to which Shepard then asked, \u201cDoes it cross your mind?\u201d<\/p>\n Sheen then answered, \u201cOh, of course, of course. Yeah, no, I\u2019m cautious about it.\u201d<\/p>\n Shepard then continued, saying, \u201cI even thought of my own role in this, like, \u2018do I wanna play a role in it?\u2019 [Getting people] to love you and root for you and let you be back up there, where I do think you have the talent to be and deserve? [\u2026] I don\u2019t ever wanna see you on TV again f***ed up, and I literally had to think \u2018ethically, like, do I wanna be a part of this process?\u2019 because I now love this dude from afar.\u201d<\/p>\n Sheen then thanked Shepard for caring about him and his journey that deeply.<\/p>\n In the caption of the interview clip<\/a>, Shepard elaborated on the connection the pair shared in the interview, saying, \u201cThis is straight to the top of \u2018Best of 2025\u2019 for me. There are few things I enjoy as much as chopping it up with a fellow addict in that specific way we do. Charlie Sheen has been at the peaks of the tallest mountain and in the lowliest trenches Earth has to offer- and he remains. Unburdened by shame or defeat, there is much to admire about him.\u201d<\/p>\n Sheen has been opening up honestly about his past a great deal as of late, with his new memoir The Book of Sheen<\/em><\/a> and his previously mentioned Netflix documentary both having been released in September 2025.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
